This new rooftop bar in the heart of Peckham is lush. The service is impeccable. I was on my period and the staff kindly lent me a tampon, which is going above and beyond in all honesty.
DRINKS 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Ordered the Skylight Sour - Monkey Shoulder, Dubonnet Rouge, lemon with aquafaba. It’s delicious. Mixed so well: not too sweet or strong.
FOOD 🖤🖤🖤🤍🤍
Ordered the crispy pig’s ears which came with a side of gochumayo. It tasted ok, but not mouthwatering. The truffle fries were a little better, and the pastrami toastie was tasty.
VIBES 🖤🖤🖤🖤🤍
Really love the layout, location and view. The music isn’t too loud and the table setup is spaced out enough so that conversations between company isn’t drowned out. I like this bar.
It was simply okay.
Sunday afternoon me and a friend grabbed a table on the rooftop.
Just some of the things, there were hardly any staff around on rooftop area, so there was constant waiting between servings / plates to be clear and trying to get attention and flagging down when there was a person or two. At some times I looked around and there were literally no waiters or waitresses outside at all!! Even as busy as it was.
The portions are small. I opted for BBQ and when it came after like a 25 minute approx (no exaggeration) wait, I was underwhelmed. Like, thinking, '£16, for this??' one bit of chicken, a little bit of fries and a bit of coleslaw. It didn't feel like value for money at all, especially with the long wait we had, it probably made it a bigger issue.
The menu is very limited, and doesn't offer much variety. It's interesting because we weren't really in a brunch mode when we got there, it was around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, it was more lunch / early dinner if anything yet the brunch menu was all they had available until apparently the dinner menu was available from 6pm onwards.
I go to a lot of places and this was the first time going here. Naturally you judge by first experiences in particular. It seems that it's decent for a little meet up with basic drinks, but that's about it. Really quite subpar, maybe I had some expectations because of the Instagrammable aesthetics, but unfortunately, what I'm finding is many places look good, but lack other essential things that make a good restaurant and also customer service.
NB Would like to see a broader food selection, however.
