Our fourth time staying here. Always a friendly welcome and great service. Fantastic beers brewed on the premises. Since our last visit the owners living quarters above the main building have been converted into three new ensuite rooms. We stayed in 'Hornblower' (all rooms are named after the beers they brew). The court yard originally had a small outside drinking/dining area and parking for guests. This is now all seating . There is plenty of on street parking and you are supplied for a parking permit for each day's stay. It is situated perfectly to wander around Bury St Edmunds with only a 5 minute walk to the town centre for the sites and shops. Breakfast is served between 8-10am there is a good selection and I warn you large portions that keep you going all day. All relaxed now and looking forward to visiting again.

Stayed 1 night. Room was lovely, clean, good size and nice bathroom. Staff on check in very helpful. Had dinner which was delicious, served by a very helpful and friendly Amber. 😊 Bed was comfy, breakfast excellent 👌. I'd recommend this hotel.

I've been a bit up and down with the service here, but currently it's good, the food is good (pub classics mostly, but done well) and the house ale is really very good. Not bad prices either. Well worth a visit

Great place to stay. Comfortable rooms and great breakfast. We really enjoyed our full English breakfast. Great dinner menu too. We had their award winning pie.

We’ve visited this place a few times over the years and I have to say it is one of our most consistent favourites. We visited today for an impromptu Sunday roast and I was blown away with the quality of the food and drink and friendliness and competency of the staff. This is a tough standard to maintain these days with all the supply chain and staffing challenges, so I take my hat off to the team at The Old Cannon Brewery. We’ll be back soon!

A most enjoyable stay at the Old Cannon Brewery. The room was cosy and comfortable and the breakfast was generous and delicious. The bar and restaurant is stylish and quirky with a broad selection of own brewed beers. We did not have supper in the restaurant as we had already booked somewhere else . When we stay again we will rectify this oversight, as I assume the quality of the breakfast is indicative of the of the rest of the food on offer.
