The only thing that's stops 5 stars is the price, 1 pint and small white wine £8:60. Eye watering in my opinion. But beer is good place is spick and span and my wife reports toilets are spot on clean.

A welcoming real ale modern bar in a back lane off the market Square in Retford behind the left handside of the town hall building. The beer selection was interesting with a nice dark Squawk Brewing Malt Stout being our choice. A pleasant bar staff member tried to help with the WiFi .

Ok beer selection but not brilliantly pumped and too sparkly. Also no vaping which is a bad decision, especially when the place is empty. Just smacks of authoritarian "cos I said so" attitude which is reflected is some of the staff too.

Lovely little independent beer shop, good variety of beers at acceptable prices. Although I'll be giving the Christmas Porter a miss next time, nust a bit too much cinnamon for me. Plenty else to choose from!

What a fabulous little gem!

Found this place quite by accident on Sunday as we were having a wander round town. Will definitely be going back. Fantastic selection of beers and a lovely warm welcome. Also free cheese board! Awesome or What?! 😁

Very relaxed place, with a brilliant selection of cask, keg and cans/bottles. Wine and spirits too, if they're your tipple. Staff are superb. Highly recommended!

A fantastic selection of craft beers and real ales are available here in a friendly, cozy setting. This is a great place to come to chew the fat with old friends or make some new ones. The pub is quite small but has consistently won Nottinghamshire pub awards since opening.

The bars staff are knowledgeable, trustworthy and relaxed. The locals are warm, friendly and approachable. I generally walk in and Andi points out the beer he thinks I’d like best. He’s got an uncanny knack of nailing it every time.

The crowd is generally made up of nice geeky types (in a good way), as opposed to unbearable trendy hipster or chavvy types. You can choose to strike up a converation or sit and enjoy your beer in peace and quiet if you’d prefer. Well behaved dogs on a lead are also welcome.

Music isn’t overbearing or too loud. Meals aren’t available but there is a good selection of bar snacks for sale to go with your beer. It’s definitely a must visit for anyone new to the town.

If you'd like to try an interesting beer in a central Retford setting (right next to the stunning Town Hall), then nip in. It's obviously more active in the evening but still nice and chilled at any time of day.
