Unbelievable: one full page of vegetarian and vegan dishes and another full of gluten-free ones, all this in a typical 16th century inn. The beer options are good as well, the staff is really friendly. What a treat after a walk in the Peak District.
Highly recommend!

Just came across this pub by accident to be honest. Was lovely, large beer garden, dog friendly, decent drinks and a good vegan menu with lots of choice for a pub! Really impressed and would recommend.

Met friends here for a Sunday roast. Good selection of real ale on tap. Roasts were delicious and the veggie roast was excellent too. Everyone enjoyed their desserts although they might be a bit too much if you don’t have a sweet tooth.

It’s a very characterful pub with a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you’re out for a hike.

Visited Bradwell, in the Peak District for a week away with family and our local pubs weren't serving food. Googled and this lovely pub / inn popped up 6 minutes from our stay and the meal was so good, we visited again!

Service was impeccable, staff very polite, attentive and checked back, they were also flexible and swapped in/out a few sides for us. We ordered the steak, sausage and mash, and the steak and ale pie. All meals were served with a generous side serving of vegetables and or mash/potatoes/homemade chips. Two of us also ordered the crumble of the day, which was apple, served with cream/ local ice cream which was heavenly.

I'm usually very critical in restaurants and can honestly say all of the meals were a 10/10 or 5* fine dining quality. In comparison to meals served at restaurants in London, the quality, quantity, flavour and price of the meals paired with the service was impeccable.

On returning, it was hard not to re-order our previous meal, however two of us ordered the beef burgers to change it up and again, 5* quality. Unable to see the bottom of the plates, the burgers cooked to perfection, came in a soft brioche bun with a well dressed side salad and generous serving of chunky homemade chips and coleslaw. It was difficault to finish the plate, but we certainly did, however there was no room for pudding this time!

The establishment was clean, spacious, with modern and extremely clean toilets. Drinks can be ordered at the quaint bar with a good selection and local beer options. All doting a rustic decor in keep with the history of the building.

These meals were a highlight of our week away, thank you!

We came here to meet our friends who were staying across the road and we stayed a little further down the road towards the village, very friendly staff and lovely cosy atmosphere enhanced by the roaring fires.
We ate here twice Scampi the first night with a really nice salad dressed with a tasty drizzle.
Second night I had pork belly perfectly cooked and my wife had Cheese and onion pie which was very tasty.
Only one minor thing was that the food was really lovely but the presentation could have been better, just small touches such as a bit of colourful garnish or the way things were arranged on the plate.
We also noticed that the pub filled up slowly then everyone ate and left...pity the locals couldn't stay longer or maybe the pub could have something to entice people to buy more beer and linger a while.
