Fantastic home cooked food! Menu could be a little bigger and there are no options for starters on their lunch menu, I'm not sure about the evening menu. We went on a Saturday lunch time and would have had a starter if available but even so the food was really tasty and all home cooked to perfection. Really good find set in a beautiful village with a lovely seating area outside with outstanding views which must be amazing in the summer. I would definitely visit again!

Service:
The service was poor. Not the hearty welcome everyone has been mentioning, the middle aged blonde who served us seemed more interested in watching the TV and talking to a local than serving us. The young server was pleasant though.
Food:
The food was hit and miss: The fish pie was well cooked and would have been tasty if it wasn't soaked in oil, The chips were borderline undercooked and felt like a failed attempt at a chippie's chips, The scampi was no better than Bird's Eye, the peas may have been from a can and the vinegar had bits in it.
Atmosphere:
The atmosphere was pleasant, quiet, but with a traditional aesthetic. Not a lively place to say the least.

A very welcoming friendly place to have a bite to eat.
Lovely log fire just what we needed on a cold day,the chicken and leak pie which was home made is absolutely gorgeous. Will be calling again when out in the Brecon beacons.

The Old Yew Tree pub was reopened after an extensive renovation. It has retained a pub atmosphere with modern decor and a very welcoming log fire. Only open from 4pm in the week but earlier on Friday and The weekend for lunch. The food is straight forward simple meals with home made items like the pie. Ample portions for most people. Very reasonably priced. The staff are extremely welcoming.

Have been going consistently whenever I'm in Cardiff with work. The food is simply amazing, the service friendly and prompt, atmosphere welcoming and all located within a beautiful environment. Can't recommend it anymore!

We came here by accident ... as it turned out it was a shot in 10 ... very tasty homemade food and very friendly service... Highly recommend

Really nice village pub, great atmosphere. Had a delicious bowl of pea and ham soup! The owner was very welcoming, and offered directions to a good local cycling climb (The Devils Elbow) as I was visiting for the weekend, and even topped up my water bottle after I’d eaten. Really recommend this place and would definitely go back again. Thank you for making me feel so welcome! 👍

Called in for a meal a few weeks ago, had a great experience. Real home made chips and really tasty steak pie. Staff were polite and friendly. Great value for money, will definitely be back!
