Wow just wow, went on a hot Sunday a few days ago as we were hungry and we were just passing. We went inside and found that it was beautifully decorated with a lot of original old wooden features still in place.
The staff were super friendly upon arrival and sat us down immediately on a lovely window table even without a reservation (I advise booking if you want to visit as it becomes busy quick on the weekends I believe)
The menu was brilliant, so much variety and hunger building items and well described and very competitively priced. I opted for a dish from the special menu (because I'm special, my mum says so anyway 😂) which was the braised beef, mash and seasonal vegetables.
It arrived quickly and I honestly wasn't blown away by the beef as it was just a very large and thick piece of steak..........until I 'cut' into it.....oh my god, I could have cut it with a balloon it was that tender - it was as though it had been cooking for 24hrs and it certainly tasted like it, wow wow wow. Best beef dish I've ever had and probably one of the best meals I've ever had. It just was just superb. Only regret was that I didn't order 2 of everything!
We then went and sat in the beer garden which was still chilled out even with a lot of kids because it was so massive with its own football pitch and adventure items for them to play on.
I cannot rate this place high enough and my only regret is that I don't live next door.
Can't wait to go back

First time I've been here, service was swift, staff were friendly and the food was of good standard. Would go again.

Wow, what a hidden gem this place is!
Stopped in on route back from Garstang.
David the Manager looked after us. Great service and food was lovely. A real treat!
Hubby enjoyed the range of ales on offer.
I had the Guinea Fowl which was stunning, hubby had the steak pie.
Thank you so much we will be back ASAP to sample some more of the menu.

Got to be the one of the worst Sunday Roasts I've ever had. No seasoning, Soggy hardly Roasted Potatoes, Limp Yorkshire Pudding tasting fishy Tasteless meats and to top it all it was just above warm. I've eaten other foods on offer and enjoyed them but Sunday Roast lacked flavour. Sticky Toffee Pudding tasted nice but Toffee Sauce was to thick and tacky. You can see by the Pudding photo it lacked runny sauce

Visited Friday 7.40pm to be told the kitchen had closed!!! returned Sunday for lunch at 4pm ordered rib of beef sorry sold out, other tables around us experienced similar issues one table walked out. One of out starters was returned and and the roast dinner was mediocre at best, I don't know who's running this place but they need sacking

Not serving food at 8.15pm despite advertising it until 9pm. Apparently short staffed, yet the chef managed to do meals earlier. I hear this excuse a lot lately. Do people not finish shifts anymore? Clearly no contingency. Had driven 3 hours and was starving and shattered.
Breakfast was OK, one nice staff member, no proper coffee, just frieze dried sachets.

Food was excellent for our party of 4. Decent portions, I would recommend the gammon. Service was very good, Daniel was very informative and polite. Wait time for food was good. The menu for children was varied and good quality. I would definitely go back! Lovely friendly atmosphere with a open fire, just what you need on a cold afternoon. Full tummies all round!

We've been to the roebuck quite a few times as we are relatively local.

It is a chef and brewer pub so the menu is similar to others in the chain.

The menu has plenty of choice, including vege options and all the food that we have had over several visits has been good pub grub, with better than good presentation.

The fried garlic prawns were very nice, to be honest the portion size was a bit disappointing but they were firm and tasty.

Garlic mushrooms on ciabatta was a good portion and a good flavour, certainly recommend for fans of the fungi.

The daily soup varies, but always a vege and vegan (no butter) option. The spiced vegetable soup was good, a bit like a thin curry.

The steak on ciabatta sandwich was very good, from the lunch menu but a good portion, cooked medium.

The battered halloumi is a great take on no-meat fish and chips, very tasty, good portion size, too much really : )

The gammon was excellent, not salty as it can be in places, a good size cut and the rum and cola glaze was actually sensational, very pleasant and moreish.

Desserts are the usual pub pre-portioned affair but nothing wrong with them at all, we tried two sundaes, both good and the indulgent sharer on another visit which was good and surprisingly filling too.

No complaints, would recommend any of the dishes we had (more prawns please) and we will certainly go back again.

Staff are all friendly and their covid measures are also commendable.

One of our pre-covid regulars for Sunday lunch and will be again.

Extensive beer garden and plenty of parking. Dog friendly : )
