Southern Cross

The Southern cross is a beautiful and inviting little pub/bnb near the heart of Watford. I was greeted by Steve when I checked in who was very friendly and offered to carry my bags upstairs for me. Although all rooms share a bathroom. The communal bathrooms were well kept, clean and fully stocked. You could easily forget that you're sharing with others. Furthermore, my room was clean and had its own shower So I didn't need to worry about privacy. When I came down for breakfast, I was served by Tomas who was super attentive and makes a beautiful coffee. I ordered a steak breakfast, medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. Thank you Team Southern Cross, I'm looking forward to the rest of my stay 💚

I had a great stay at The Southern Cross. The team was very friendly and welcoming, the manager, Steve(?) was incredibly funny and gave you the time of day to ensure you had a great experience. I hope to never find myself in Watford again, but I would stay here if I do.

A fantastic pub to go too, so family friendly for all ages. All the staff are so helpful towards everyone, I processed something wrong on the app for my food and they happily changed it without charging me extra fees. Shows they care about there guests and not just the profit!

This pub is a fantastic place to watch the football, propper football vibes, the pub has plenty of screens with indoor and outdoor seating, they've got a pool table and darts, free parking (you have to register your number plate inside), good food, great selection of beers.

We got our food and drinks delivered to the table fairly quick, even though we were there on a Watford match day and the pub was really busy!

The staff are really helpful and friendly, highly recommend!

Been to southern cross many times in past and always been good. Went out for a birthday meal and was shocked at how bad the food is now. Had to send meals back. Only decent thing to eat was the chips! Would never go back again. Such a shame.

Took my mum, wife and two girls for lunch, was surprised how nice the food was. The pub was quite quiet and the kids were running around whilst waiting. The staff didn’t seem to mind which was nice .

It was an amazing experience with my family over there. The staff was amazing specially the Steven who did great management for us.
Food was lovely. Can’t wait to go again.❤️

You could smell the toilets and had to move, thankfully it was quiet so easily found another space. It used to be a little gem close enough to the offices but the upkeep of areas like the toilets really does give an impression of the whole pub...just a shame
