We had a lovely carvery meal here this afternoon. Megan was amazing and so helpful when asked about the gluten free options. She even remembered the gluten free gravy! Meat was lovely and tender. Potatoes nice and crunchy. Thank you. 5*

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this was quite disappointing really. We went for our anniversary ( & that we are only down the road!) we have heard good things so we wanted to give it a try… plus we really fancied a roast as it’s Sunday! It went all down hill from the welcoming. the roast was quite mediocre. The meat was dry and veg was clearly sat under the heat lamps for a very long time! and to top it off we had about 4 flies constantly flying around our table and IN our food. This didn’t seem to be affecting the other tables but us. It was quite off putting, especially as we were quite near to where they were serving the roast dinner (who knows if anything landed in there!) I can say we left quite soon after we sat down and left a lot on our plate. Very disappointing end to our good day. We probably won’t be back again.

We didn’t want to complain again since we have already had a few times about drinks etc.

The only positive thing I can say is that the Chef serving the meat was very friendly and polite! Can’t say the same for the rest of the staff I’m afraid

Had a Sunday afternoon carvery, zero complaints whatsoever. Booked the table over the phone in the morning, arrived and was seated and told how to get on with things. All the staff were really polite, especially the team behind the bar, and the food was incredible and very much worth the price. Inside the restaurant was clean, everything was neat and tidy, but it could feel cramped and loud to some. Will definitely be returning.

Another very enjoyable time.
Not as busy as previous visits, but service and food just as good.
Menus are very good including a children's menu, several choices which should suit most people.

Food very good and hot.
Very good service at the bar and the food brought to our table.

Had a family meal today at the Alma.
Service was excellent, food presentation and carvery very good.
The only downside was the quality of the burgers being used. They had the same look and taste as you'd expect from a car boot burger van. I had a triple burger and I'd have preferred one decent patty instead of the 3 served.
This was really disappointing as everyone else's meals were superb from the fresh cooked pizzas to the quality of the carvery.
Will definitely be back but not for a burger.

Had a delicious meal and lovely evening at The Alma, Southampton on Friday 4 November. Food was excellent and good value. There were 29 of us and the manager and staff were amazing - absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. Food and service were excellent. I have coeliac disease and the chef arranged for my vegetables to be cooked separately to avoid any risk of contamination and my meal was brought to the table. Delicious food. Wonderful evening and everyone enjoyed themselves. Big thank you to the manager and all the staff from all of us.

Great food lovely friendly staff. Natalie friendly and checked to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Beef was beautifully cooked and the lady serving the food was again very friendly, telling us how the beef was cooked. And the boys on the door were fun friendly and obliging. Will def come again.

My family and I came here for our Christmas dinner and it was absolutely lovely. Staff were so friendly and our waiter was fantastic with the young children. We all had such a lovely experience there. Very happy.
