Nice Winchester pub, quite with no sport. Lots of good secluded areas fit couples out small groups to have quite drinks & talk. This is a great place for a drink & chat after the cinema.

Lots of things to look at around the pub.

Good food with a dining area upstairs.

Have a loyalty card shared with the other locations in the group.

This is a lovely pub. Within an easy walk from the train station. So warm and comfortable. The food is very good and at a reasonable price. There is a good selection of drinks for all tastes. I would recommend this bar for a good natter with friends or a catch up with family.

Drinks and decor were lovely, however the service was a bit hit and miss and we had to chase up a couple of bits. Also, the bacon in my burger was floppy and wet. Bacon in burgers should be lovely and crispy. This was the exact opposite of that! And there was a man behind us that was allergic to cheese who got really ratty. We enjoyed watching the drama unfold when his burger (which I can only assume also had floppy bacon) came out with cheese...

A nice local, not a huge amount of seating but reasonably upscale as you'd expect from Winchester. Opposite the cinema gives a great location for pre or post movie drinks. Friendly staff, reasonable but not exceptional drink selection.

The Green Man is one of the most relaxing and quirky pubs in Winchester with an extensive range of quality food, wines and spirits. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will always find the time to go the extra mile.

The food menu changes regularly and whenever we have eaten here we've left satisfied. The only negative is that it isn't a cheap night out but you do get what you pay for so I can't complain too much!

Part of the independantly run 'Little Pub Group', there are a variety of incentives to visit their other local venues that all boast different characters but the same core quality of experience.

Had a party for thirty people booked since early October. I have contacted the pub 6 times for a menu and an order form to no avail. Today I called and was informed they couldn't see my booking in the system. When I requested to speak to a manager, they said they were too busy and could not even guarantee a call back when they were finished with dinner service. Appalling management, customer service and organization. I would request that the owner please leave their email address so I can speak to them about this matter.

EDIT: I was promised a call back by Monday December 23rd but received no further communication from the pub despite being told it was the manager's "top" priority.

I very rarely 1* as that generally shows an inaccurate reflection of a business. Totally appropriate in this case.

Unwelcoming, zero COVID compliance, generally a very unpleasant experience. Food ordered was cold, alcohol ordered was warmer at room temperature - and when questioned the man behind the bar (presumably landlord from vehemence of defence, the chap with alopecia and an attitude?) was aggressive and unhelpful.

Last time I will go there - a quiet pub for a reason!
