Really friendly pub. Welcoming staff . Nice selection of beers. Didn't try the food but it looked fine. Nice to see it open again.

My son and I went in for lunch today. We were walking the Clarendon way and needed a hearty lunch. We were after vegan food and there was nothing on the menu to suit us. But the chef was superb, he made us a delicious roasted vegetable dish, in a stuffed courgette (nearly marrow) with perfect roast potatoes and red onions. It was delicious, good value and the Palmer's IPA was delicious too. - Highly recommended

Proper pub! My wife and I discovered it by chance while cycling by the Test. The best trout and crab sandwiches we have had for as long as we can remember. Very quick service and Good beer served by a proper old school landlord. (That’s a compliment!)
Thoroughly recommend.

An Honest country pub, no frills or spills.
What you see is what you get and I haven't heard the locals complaining. Pooch friendly, plenty of outside tables. Parking over the road. Cyclists, Dog Walkers, just passing through. Everyone is welcome.

A great example of a proper village pub, the food was divine, quality local produce cooked to perfection and good conversation to boot. Would recommend to all.

I went there on Thursday with a fishing party, I ordered a rare beef sandwich, it was amazing!! Best beef sandwich I have ever had.
Really good value.
It came with a substantial potato salad and mixed salad.
Washed down with a pint of their IPA which was also excellent.
I understand from some of my mates that the Ham Egg & chips was 1st class too!

The pub is very friendly and welcoming. Great for walkers, cyclists. The food looked great but if you are vegetarian the menu is a roast pepper and goats cheese salad. They do sandwiches but not a vegetarian option. Although the chef will do a pasta or risotto in the evening. We were told a vegetarian Sunday roast was offered but actually it was just the roast vegetables with no nut roast or pie. So disappointing.
