Spectacular renovation that cost the brewery £1.3 million!!! A truly wonderful example of money well spent.

I didn't eat on this visit, but the meals I witnessed being served looked substantial and fresh. The staff here are young, friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to help you with any queries or assistance.

I have promised to take my niece, her husband and their 2 children, here for a meal...very soon.

Large, well marked car park with several disabled bays, lovely terrace with plenty of seating and shade.

Highly recommended.

We popped in for a late lunch and we really enjoyed it. The decor of the pub is lovely - so many interesting little bits to look at and cosy corners. The service was so friendly and brilliant from everyone, the food was delicious. If I'm being super critical I would say the side of fries portion could be bigger, but we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back and recommending to friends and family!

New chef, he's sourced phenomenal beef steak. Please go eat at this place.

The atmosphere is outstanding.
Interior carpentry is Top Class.
Really awe by the Renovation.

Drafts are great. They clean their pipes often. Buzzing Place.

Highly recommend.

Nice food, service was steady drinks were nice, experience was spoilt a little by a very noisy table next to us.

Really nice in there since being updated. Friendly staff and good service. A pity hall and Woodhouse have become massively overpriced. C.£15 for veggie Gnocchi and over 5 quid for a bottle of beer. Outrageous.

Christmas Day Lunch.
The two stars are for the staff who were generally cheerful and attentive. We paid £85.00 per head as a treat after the last two failed Christmases. What a waste of money. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen! My starter was Duck terrine….solid and stringy. On the main course our roast potatoes were burnt, the Yorkshire puddings soggy, sprouts were well over-cooked, to the point of mush. The tiny spoonful of swede was so peppery as to be inedible. No pigs in blankets, and no stuffing. Teeny tiny slice of Christmas pudding. On the plus side, the glass of Champagne was delicious, and the pub was beautifully decorated. If you are going to offer catering on a mass scale, on a special day, and ask us all to pay ahead of the meal, please don’t take your eye off the ball. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
