The Old Inn

Absolutely brilliant. I do not think you could ask for more. Food full of flavour, obviously lots of pride in to every meal, service impeccable, staff friendly, dog friendly, spotlessly clean throughout. Would offer more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you to all of the staff for making a quick 3 day visit to Holt exceptional.

Stopped for an impromptu lunch after a walk from riverside campsite on a Monday lunchtime . Hadn’t booked (worth doing) but they found space in a pizza area outside. Good menu. Ordered muddy(?) chips ..as a side dish that come with pulled pork, cheese and jalapeños and didn’t really need anything else…but the prawns were amazing! Dog friendly

Lovely setting, lots of seating options, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious- fresh pizza out of the pizza oven a highlight would definitely recommend and will be back!

What a fantastic meal! Best meal we have had since we have been down on holiday in Dorset. The old inn pizza was probably one of the best pizzas I have had outside of Italy. Took all The family tonight including three dogs and we all loved this place. Staff were great and friendly and we were really well looked after, with a good menu choice available. We ate inside but did notice that outside had an eating area which was covered and had heaters if you wanted to eat or drink outside. Just wish this was closer to home as I would be regular. If you are think about eating here just do it, you won’t be disappointed

Great Sunday lunch. Worth the trip. Very busy at main lunchtime so if you want a bit quieter go mid afternoon I guess. The beef was lovely. Not tough and not cooked to grey like some places.
I am fussy and this was lovely. Highly recommended

We came on Sunday as we were in the area. I've been here before a few years ago, and remember it was good food and service. Nothing has changed there. Service and food were very good. Dogs are also welcome both inside and out. Pleasant and quite atmosphere. A good selection of alcoholic beverages are available too. Be aware that service charges are added to the bill automatically. I personally have no issue with this, as the service personnel work very hard and antisocial hours to provide guests with an awesome experience. This is not everyone's attitude to tipping though, so be aware of this if you plan to tip as cash (or not at all) Parking is limited at very busy periods.

Usually I'd give this place 5 stars. It's a beautiful pub and restaurant and great staff and food. Maybe they were too busy as it was Christmas Eve but the table we specifically booked was given to another party. We were put on two small round tables pushed together which wasn't good. Two of our party had steak and ale pies and I had steak and kidney. None of them were good. Tough, chewy meat, soggy undercooked pastry and tasteless. We felt we couldn't complain again as we'd already complained about our table. Really surprised, as it's usually lovely. The other 3 meals were good and the place was packed. Maybe they need to concentrate on quality not quantity. Or maybe someone new doing the pies?
We'll go again and hopefully it will be back to normal high standards. Just a shame as we were really looking forward to it.

I would need an extra star for the review of this fabulous place! 😁 we have chosen this pub completely at random and been very pleasantly surprised! The pub has it all, stunning building, with great outside (front and back) garden to sit in, beautifully decorated inside. Staff were great, attentive, very professional and friendly- very pleasant overall. And then there is the food, I do not have a high standard, but boy, did I enjoy the food at this pub!!! 👏👏👏 Best mushroom soup I have ever eaten (had other things as well 🤣)😋 to end it all, I have been pleasantly surprised with the prices. For the quality of service and the quality of food, I would have been more than happy to pay more!!! My new favourite pub, shame its almost 3hrs away.
