Fantastic pub/restaurant serving a wonderful array of dishes ranging from classic seafood courses to sumptuous roasts in a relaxed dining atmosphere... Along with attentive and friendly staff it's like having all your birthdays at once!!!

Really lovely place. We stopped in just for a drink and ended up having the scallops. They were to die for. Fantastic range of drinks and food on offer. Would highly recommend.

Great food - calamari starter was crispy and good sized, the Smokie was very rich but yummy mind flat iron steak though gorgeous with cracking french fries and properly cooked was a bit pricey for that cut of meat. Staff though they were on their first shifts or just nearly new were good, polite and attentive but not intrusive (5 stars to them). The £30ish Chardonnay was pleasant, the naughty 6 something percent cider from whisky barrels awesome and a decent glass of red Shiraz... Be aware there is a service charge...

Great pub and really delicious food. Well sized portions which will fill you up. Prices are reasonable and was a lovely place to catch up over lunch!

There were vegan options available too which was a bonus for my group.

We were part of a large Christmas do Saturday night downstairs
The atmosphere was lively, buzzing and fun
Staff very friendly and helpful
Food was very very good in particular the Halibut fillet with parsnip purée and honey truffle - so so delicious

Hmmm well where do I start... On entering we found we were downstairs as my partner couldn't book one upstairs (even though there were tables) As we entered I realised it was cold, I had opted to wear a short sleeve top. Let's not mention the loo... Flipping freezing in there! Popped upstairs as warmer, given menus and then somewhere along the way we became invisible. After listening to the barman chatting away to his drunk visitor/friend and completely ignoring us. I decided to call out.... Could we have a bottle of Gave please? Oh, ofcourse he says and pops it over, promptly goes back to his errrm friend and resumes conversation. Eventually our order is taken... Whitebait which was not great and pate which was OK. Then we became non-existent... An hour passes I then ask if there is an issue, he disappears and apologises. A good 20 minutes later our food arrives. My partners is lovely, mine however was cooked to a rubbery consistence which my fork would not penetrate. For a piece of fish this was indeed some specialist cooking. I returned it and had waited so long I just lost the will to eat. I munched on my fries and gave up. They then came and offered a free dessert, oh my I thought, fabulous. I didn't realise they meant just the ONE dessert.
All in all very disappointing, we will not be returning. My partner knows the owners otherwise I would have walked away after the starters...
Not great.....

Took my family here when they came to visit us in Tunbridge Wells. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all excellent. I had to amend my booking and Matthew was very accommodating in making adjustments to ensure we enjoyed our evening. Will be back again for sure.

Food was great and the service couldn't fault. Superb variety of beers, and good wine list. Will definitely be going back. Would recommend you give it a go.
