An amazing shop as well as a bar - the owners have a brilliant knowledge about their products which is great for my partner, who is nerdy about beer, but they’re also helpful to the less discerning lager drinker like me.

Whilst not as cheap as the supermarket, buying from here feels special as you’re supporting local and you know that every product they stock is considered and carefully chosen.

Can’t wait to go back for an evening once lockdown is over!

Great little beer venue. Friendly staff and a interesting selection on tap, plus bottles. I’m sure I’ll be back in no time!

Wow what a great place! Friends from folkstone brought me to this incredible little spot as part of a pub crawl, we ended up spending the rest of the night there. I’m not much of a beer drinker, so I was exited to see that there are amazing local choices for liquors as well. My friends who are beer enthusiasts enjoyed the wide selection and by the end of the night even I had found a sour I liked. The service was off the charts amazing and really made the night special. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I've lived in the Folkestone/Hythe area for about 30 of my 32 years alive but hadn't been for a drink around here in several years. I walk past The Beer Shop frequently, on my way to go climbing at F51 and had been intrigued to try it, but rarely drink and most of my mates aren't drinkers either.

Last night, after climbing with a couple of relatively new friends, we went for a drink at The Beer Shop. Music was pretty good (too many places play terrible music too loud and that makes me want to never return), barman was helpful in recommending me ales and he was also friendly (interjected in our conversation a couple of times when we were struggling to remember things like film titles). Let us stay for another 15-20 minutes after he'd locked up, to finish our conversation and drinks whilst he tidied up and cleaned the toilet. It's pricey but then, so are most independent pubs nowadays and good beer is worth more than the same old rubbish lager.

Overall, a good experience. Hope to return, probably after another climb at F51.
