Came here for lunch with a friend and first off, what a gorgeous pub. A mish-mash of furniture, quirky nautical decor, a wood burner stove and views across the harbour. We went in on a Saturday afternoon around 12 so just before the lunch time rush and we were served at the bar immediately. I ordered a bottle of water and a Brighton Gin with a Mediterranean Tonic which came to £8.80 which felt a little pricey...but Brighton Gin is my favourite so I didn't mind. We took a menu and found a seat. A nice selection of light bites and pub classics. We both opted for a burger....I had the one with the bacon and gouda. The burger was a tiny bit dry but tasted very yummy, the chips were delicious. Everything was nice and hot and reasonably priced at £12.50 each. The staff were helpful and friendly and the loos were nice and clean.

Total disappointment.

I cannot put 1 star as food was eatable but come on guys. I’m coming to the sea food restaurant on the sea bank, in the port town. I’m happy to pay money for a good food but bloody being served with the food I can buy in ASDA or Morrison for £2. I can accept this in the pub somewhere in the country but not in the “seafood restaurant”. This is an absolute disgrace. I cannot also understand hypocritical comments which brings the rating of this place above 4 stars. This average service for ridiculous money is not OK. You’d better go across the Chanel and check how you get treated in any eatery of any village.

Thanks to my friends who chose this restaurant. I had a fabulous evening and enjoyed the local beer with seafood platter and chicken fries. Yowler beer was really nice. I would definitely come back to enjoy the rest of the menu.

First time eating here, so being Sunday, we chose the roast, and it was lovely all cooked to a great standard the beef was cut from a joint not them nasty sirloin cuts and you have all the fresh veg cabbage, and red cabbage, carrot, and cauliflower cheese and offcourse that Yorkshire pudding , There's a new updated menu with plenty more too choose from

Having recently moved to the area, this pub is certainly our favourite.
A lovely cosy atmosphere, country pub vibe with a by the sea charm, nice beer, friendly staff - seriously tasty and well presented food. Who could ask for more? We've frequented the pub every weekend for a few weeks now, we can't stay away!
