This is my honest and non biased review. I'll try to keep it as matter of fact as possible. This weekend me and my partner stayed for one night. Upon check in there were several beer cans in the hallway what was still there on checkout. Shared toilet had no spare loo roll. The bedroom was not the ones in the photos and was much smaller than booked. They was fully booked so could not change it. There was no bin, no kettle, no bedside table, the bed lights did not work, the blind had 4 slats missing so was no longer a blind, the fire alarm had a old sock on it, there were no hangers, no TV, no reception phone, the towels was far to small and we had to use them as a blind. We was promised two more towels that never arrived. As compensation we received two complementary breakfasts.. However, waking up hungry the next morning to be told the chef received no orders so prepare no guests food. So we ordered two teas ... For some reason they were made Purley from lukewarm steamed milk with no water, strangest cup of tea I've tasted in my life...at this point we just left them and checked out we had had enough. From start to finish everything that could go wrong was.

Came here for Sunday lunch. Friendly accommodating staff, good atmosphere. Great service from Sebastian where nothing was too much trouble. Amazing food choice of chicken, beef and vegetarian option. Reading Sunday

Absolutely love this pub. Nice and big, great atmosphere, really lovely decor and super friendly staff. The food is awesome and they definitely don't skimp on portions. The vegan Sunday Roast nut loaf is absolutely to die for!

I have been a few times and keep saying I wouldn’t return as both the service and food hasn’t been great. I saw that they had a new menu and also chef so decided to give it another go. It really has improved so much! I’d now highly recommend it, the new menu is great and all the food was cooked from scratch and really delicious, with a much better menu too! Really hope others will give it another go.

Enjoyed Sunday roast here on Sunday Oct 23rd. Huge delicious roast chicken, very friendly and helpful staff and also a great atmosphere throughout. After lunch a super band started playing some great music too.

Wonderful first visit. Attended a private function and was extremely impressed. Lovely atmosphere, comfy seats, good food, spacious, different areas within and an external area. Only downside was ladies toilet, one cubicle had no loo roll, another had a dodgy seat ( wasn't gonna risk it). Asised from that I would like to return on a non event evening and just have a drink as it appears to be nice; so would like to see on a different day. Music was great DJ's on the night took me back in time with some nostalgic tunes. Overall a lovely event was held. In pleasant surroundings.

We just had the most wonderful lunch at the Furzedown. The food was sensational. I had perfectly cooked beef Wellington and my husband had a delicious roast, puddings were also excellent (freshly based clementine brownies!) and the wine was excellent for the price. I will absolutely be back.
