Absolutely fantastic little pub on corner of Liverpool Road and Ellington Street, seating inside with couches and tables and outside seating aswell, great on a sunny day to sit outside and have a few drinks. They serve food here aswell, which to be honest I have not tried yet but have been told by friends that the menu is good and food is really really good. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and the staff are really really friendly and really polite. I would definitely recommend that people come to this pub and see for themselves.

£21 for a beef Sunday roast. The price was really expensive for the small quantity. Although tasty, if you’re hungry you’ll need two of the same dish.

Always a good visit here. Food is lovely, drinks are always spot on. The staff are just great, friendly but not intrusive. Jake the barman deserves a pay rise. One of the nicest bar tenders ever. Thanks again for another great visit.

Lovely pub with really friendly staff. Let down by the terrible food... we have given this kitchen a few chances now and it's been a constant disappointment.
Expensive, premium priced menu for frozen food... I mean school dinner quality. Such a shame as the pub is really nice.

My daughter and I wanted to go out for Christmas dinner this year but since we decided last minute, we thought how lucky we were to find this pub with bookings still available.
I came across it on google and after reading the reviews on how good their roast was, I went ahead.
She wanted to look elsewhere but I went ahead with this since it was fairly near to home and I was getting panicked that they would be fully booked.
I should have listened to her !
We arrived on time, to what seemed quite a busy atmosphere.
We were kept waiting for a table only for a few minutes, but when we sat down, the table was not laid ready, still dirty
Unfortunately we were not told, and should have at this point, that they were understaffed due to staff not turning up, and they were very delayed in serving.
The beginning of the 4 course menu was a glass of cuvee with tasters.
The cuvee we got, only one taster was brought over but after the starters which should have been the other way round.
Three hours of being there, we finally got our mains.
I ordered the turkey with trimmings, my daughter beef steak
We had the same vegetables which were hard and cold.
The meals were presented nice but lacked in flavour.
Considering it was so slow, we stayed quite calm, unlike other people who walked out.
We had drank so much alcohol just to pass the time. But
We had enough after 4 hours that in the end we took our dessert with us in the taxi home.
We gave the two waiting staff a generous tip as they really tried hard to keep calm and serve everyone as best they could.
Management was of no help at all, did not make any attempt to apologise or offer compensation
Was looking forward to this so much, left very hungry and out of pocket !

Our Christmas was ruined due to the lack of Christmas meal we received on Sunday.
We prepaid for a four course meal with a glass of bubbles (which was not cheap) arrived at the time of the booking and were waiting for 20 mins before seated. Whilst waiting we were informed by another customer that they had been waiting 2.5 hours and still not received their meals, this was concerning to begin with so we asked if we would have the same issue and were assured we wouldn’t. When we were finally seated it was a further 25 minutes before we got drinks, and we had chased them twice at this point, including going to the bar and were told they would bring them however they clearly ignored this request as I had to ask the same lady again later and she turned around and said she wasn’t working the floor, but once I said we had been there 45mins and not been served a drink she palmed us off to her colleague. I will say the main waiter was a trooper, with a lack of management assisting him and the female bartender making things his problem, as well as having to deal with angry customers at no fault of his own. We ended up waiting two and a half hours without even receiving the entree before we gave up. During this time another customer bought us knives and forks for the taster we had been served as the wait staff had not, this customer then cleared our plates for us because of how poor the service was. There was clearly something wrong in the kitchen and we gave them the opportunity to be honest up front after having spoken to fellow customers, but we’re blatantly lied to. Extremely disappointed as we could have made our own Christmas meal and had a much better day, but nothing is open on Christmas Day so we preserved only to be let down. Really ruined our day

Food was delicious. Christmas dinner preordered was a disaster messed up all the order. I had trout it was the size of a poached egg on a bed of salad looked more like a starter. They did apologise continuously and give 20% off final bill. They didn’t improve their service! Won’t go again!
