If you are around Shoreditch - come to this bar. It's usually not very busy and you can get a good seat. Owners are super chilled and when I was there they had cats and a dog around.
Despite looking like a local bar, Place presented itself as a nice club with a DJ playing smooth house tracks.
I would say the best quality of this bar is the crowd, which tends to be super down to earth.
One thing - they don't have much selection of drinks.
Great DJ, reasonable drink prices, amazing vibes from the place and the people!
Certainly worth coming again.
Also keep in mind that you are not allowed to get some fresh air more than 2 minutes if you don’t smoke even though they make you wait in a line just for this purpose…
.embarrassing... I insist that you watch the fotage !!!!! You have it use it !!
🍺 £6.20 Asahi
❤️ Hoxton estate pub turned club.
.
The Lion & Lamb is located in the middle of the Pitfield Estate in Hoxton. The nearest station is Hoxton which is a five minute walk away.
.
This is a classic post war built estate pub which is a rare find in London these days. The pub closed in 2015 and reopened 2018 with an approach to move with the shift in demographic of the Hoxton/Shoreditch pub goer.
.
The decor here is an eclectic mix of old and new. There are oldschool wooden booth benches and worn down chesterfields to chill out on. The walls are painted black and red and there is a DJ booth at the far end of the bar.

The beer line up was pretty good, I had a pint of Asahi which was nice enough and cheaper price than usual for Asahi.

I visited around 7pm with my brother after a crawl around the area. On entering there was a charge to get in, I explained we were just popping in for a quick pint and the lady on the door kindly waived us in. We were served by a very polite fella behind the bar, we took a seat and took stock of our surroundings. We were soon joined by the pub dog Bruno, a lovely natured Staffy who was after a bit of attention which he received loads of from me and my brother. After a little deliberation my brother and I soon came to the conclusion that this was more club than pub and enjoyed our pints and the vibe here none the less.

The Lion & Lamb is a destination for fans of House, Garage and dance music, 25 years ago I couldn’t have been a regular. This place would have never survived if it continued down the traditional pub route as that type of punter just isn’t here anymore. So is this a pub? The building is, for me this place is more club than pub.
