Our local pub forever until I left to live abroad 30 years ago. Back today, not just as good as ever but even better. A South London legend done proud - cheers!

I adore this place. Its a South London institution for the alt scene. I've met some life long friends in this place, a great atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks.
The music is eclectic, but errs on the rockier side. Djs on Thursday to Sunday are there to set the tone for a good night out; whether it's a couple of drinks you're there for or a big night out.
The staff are attentive and polite and it's my go-to bar when I'm in the area. Everyone I introduce to the bar loves it, and rightly so.

I have been a semi-regular in The Ship for about 5 years now and every time I've been in there, I've had a great time. The managers Jackie and Mark are amazing, as are all the staff there. The music is heavy, the drinks have always been reasonably priced and the regulars are always fun to hang out with. Never a dull moment in The Ship and never had a problem there before. 10/10 venue. May it never change!

Awesome pub. Great beer, great music, friendly staff. Never fail to have a brilliant time here whether for a quiet midweek beer or tearing it up in a weekend.

Sometimes when you hate yourself so much you exude that hate outwards. It's a natural reaction to put the pain you're feeling onto others. Although understandable, it's hugely unpleasant.
If you don't know what this looks like, you should meet the manger of this pub.
When she screams at others, the first reaction is to be defensive, or even angry. However with her there is only sorrow. Sorrow for her obviously very unhappy life.
And as understandable as it is, when you've had a long week at work and want to go for a beer, it's a bit much to watch.
Anyway, sometimes they play okay music (albeit only 5 songs on repeat 7 days a week) the manager will suck any fun out of the room.
You know when you look at yourself in he mirror and you're so agitated with the person looking back, most upstanding members of society put that hate inwards, this manager does not.

This is a rock pub. It's one of the best with great staff and a great selection of drinks. If you are in to rock music I'd recommend a visit.
