Friendly staff and quick service. The food has recently been excellent. Comes out well presented and hot.This pub has a lovely outside garden with seated and table sheds

On Saturday evening, 48 of us sat down for an R.A.F. reunion dinner. We found the service and the quality of the food very good. There was a lot of choice from the menu and, without exception, we all enjoyed our 2 or 3 courses. The pub is very well managed and the staff well trained, polite and attentive. We would definitely return. It just needs the decor updating a little or it would have been 4 stars.

I was organising a celebration of life for my son. We had booked another venue just around the corner near the lake and heard there was a wedding reception there. So cancelled and went to the Horse and Jockey. When we booked the guy said, with a buffet this area could only seat 30 people. We said can we book for 40 people and the extras would have to sit outside or use the bar area, he said this would be okay. The day before the celebration of life we went in to the Horse and Jockey to increase the numbers, we had heard my son's companies was closing at midday because there would be no staff to carry on the business.
The staff working that day in the Horse and Jockey were amazing they could not do enough to make sure everything went right. This was the 12/08/22 the amount of people that said the food was top quality and there was so much choice, and we had done our son proud was what we wanted to hear on this sad day.

Great food and great staff. I highly recommend this place. Me and the wife had a fantastic lunch with drinks and probably the best apple crumble I've ever eaten. All for £26.

Lovely pub. Stopped In for an evening meal twice now. Both time I have received excellent service from Rourke & Dylan. Came back a second time just because of the excellent service received from Rourke. Will definitely be returning again more regularly.

My dad stayed in the hotel next door for a couple of night's as we were down from Scotland to see an Arsenal match at the beginning of January. We decided to have lunch here before setting off. We both ordered steak sandwiches, which were cold with chewy bits of inedible steak. To be fair the male staff member did offer to replace our meals but we didn't have time to wait so had to leave as we left the female member of staff charged us full whack for two meals we didnt eat. Go for a drink but don't ever eat here. disgusting.

I would like to thank all the staff working on Friday 16th December and Saturday 17th December for their hard work we had a booking for the Festive Buffet on the Saturday and it was well presented and very hot all our guests enjoyed the food.

Also we had 2 children with us who were both booked into to see Santa on the Saturday and Sunday breakfast they were both so pleased the way Santa came to see them and remembered their names one of the best Santa Visits they have had well done Santa.

I would also like to compliment the Breakfast we had on the Saturday and the Sunday all freshly cooked, tasty and not over priced.

Staff extremely helpful & friendly nothing was too much trouble for them, food was excellent & came to you hot on a hot plate!!
Was good value for money.
