Good food, the club sandwich with chips very good. The pub girl is very kind and professional. Approved,

A great pub, and one of Croydon's best. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and fabulous food, not to mention a vast variety of alcoholic beverages. Enjoy. 🥘🍻🥂🍷🤘

I had a mosey on down to Croydon to sample some of it's watering holes and first up is the The Spread Eagle which is a fabulous former bank building.

As you can see from the picture it's a behemoth of a boozer and they don't waste the space at all. Upstairs is a theatre where they hosts regular comedy nights and the downstairs is a big old booze emporium which is run by Fullers and they know a few things about pubs.

If you’re after a large pub that pulls no punches this is one for you.

Classic British pub, good selection of beer on draught and good Sunday roasts.

It saddens me to write this review because I have loved this pub in the past. But a Pie and Ale pub that no longer has pies on the menu is quite disappointing, even when there are
pictures of them on their website. When trying the new pie-less menu, a number of items were unavailable. We order the beer burger and we’re very underwhelmed and average also there was a hair in the fries. Such a shame because it was a great pub, hopefully it can get back there. Bring back the pies! Luckily it still has a good range of beers and spirits.

Had a fantastic time at this pub. I booked for 10 of us to watch Autumn International rugby and was given a private room upstairs complete with dining table, sofas, a large tv and speakers. Staff were friendly and easy-going. Drinks reasonable value for London.

Unfortunately has gone downhill recently in terms of food.

Used to have a lovely pie selection and good veggie range but now no pies to be found and only one sub-par veggie burger as a main.

Clinging on to three stars due to their decent ale selection, good atmosphere and lovely staff.

A traditional pub in the heart of Croydon with high ceilings and a beautifully carved wooden bar. It felt welcoming and cosy as soon as I stepped through the door and I found they have a good range of beers from the Fullers and wider Asahi group (Fullers, Dark Star etc). There are a few big screens around the place to show sport but it doesn't feel overbearing or detract from the vibe.
