Very nice place, feels like home - a chimney, cosy canapés, soft light. We already were here in 2018 and came back for the second time in 2019. Looking forward for 2020 and further!

Under new management 😀 Very very friendly made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
Added bonus was the complimentary good on offer (very tasty) a bit later in the evening. Well recommend. So glad we now have a descent local to go to happy days!

Random Tuesday evening, best meal We have had in a LONG time in Gravesend. Really nice pub/people, EXCELLENT food. Highly recommend.

Need management or actual trained waitresses in here on a Sunday. Food wasn’t bad, the roast beef was very bloody (ok if you like that but i don’t like undercooked meat anyway). There was no effort from Front of house, we received our food and no one came to check if we wanted a drink, or asked if everything was ok with our food. The chef (his name was Phil on his chef jacket) was polite and came out to say hello to us which felt welcoming and the first smile we had, other than that there wasn’t any customer service. Plates were left on the table after we ate, no one came to clear them, no one offered us a dessert menu, just a general shame because the decoration and ambience is beautiful, the place could really do well, just need to improve on service standards & hospitality. If you want to have a successful business, you should be offering drinks, desserts and starters to increase your sales and provide a service which people would love to come back to. Just a bit of advice for you, as we would love to see it be a success after so many changes in management. We had to look for someone to ask for the bill even though it wasn’t busy, we were the only ones in there for around half an hour. When we paid the cash after going to the bar, not a single team member said thank you, or nothing they just took the money and walked off. Also, reccomend having some kind of uniform, or presentable clothing for staff. Just some advice, Also lots of drinks were not in stock and when we went and asked someone for a dessert menu, they didn’t have one they said only 2 dessert options they have. Must say, the roast dinner apart from the bloody beef was lovely, but service let the whole visit down! Well done to the chef in the kitchen
