A rare find, this pub is a genuine classic place with quality running through its lines.

I like the ales on tap, the leaning tower ale is good value, and they always seem to have neck oil available which I like a lot.

Their Sunday roast is a must really good selection of veg and succulent meat.

They have rooms too however I haven't stayed there due to living local.

The decorations in the pub make it what it is, a feast for the eyes.

If your on a bike they have bike parking and an under cover outdoor bar and seating area, also a beer garden with space for 30+ seated.

Went to a birthday meal. Absolutely lovely pub, gorgeous food all reasonable selection of beers. Been to this pub many times before, even staying in the accommodation. Really great pace to stay and eat, great location for touring around the area.

Sunday lunch was magnificent. Staff were fairly attentive. We had to ask if they were serving Sunday dinners, after we saw a nearby table devouring theirs.
No mention of Sunday dinners on the menu, and I had to ask if there was a specials board.
Staff did not make us aware of Sunday dinner.
Food took quite a while to come, even though the pub wasn't that full.
The menu wasn't amazing.
I've been to better pubs for lunch.

The food is normally good here. The service is a bit Jekyll and Hyde, and it can feel a bit unwelcoming when you walk in the front door and find the front bar full of locals that make it clear they have noticed that you are not one of them 🙈
Beer garden is pretty, just by the bell tower and the garden is dog friendly.
Great start/stop point for walking the local area and exploring the Moss.

I'd give five stars for the pub itself, as it's very quirky with a sense of humour, a must see if your passing.

Dropped a couple of stars for the service we received while dining.

Lovely pub. Really good service and beautiful food! If a traditional pub, with a touch of cozy and a dash of swift service is what you want, this is the place.

Best local in the area. Friendly, well kept beer and the place is full of character and charm. Excellent outdoor bar as well

Visited The Swan again last night with friends for a meal and it was at its absolute best! The place was packed with not a table to be had but that didn't affect either the 5 Star service or the standard of food. It came with its usual informal, warm welcome and gave us a great few hours. Great Menu and fully warrants this 5 Star posting!
