I am really sorry to have to leave this review. In the past I have left 5 stars. I regularly order the steak and onion rings and chips. Normally it is really lovely and amazing value for money. Last night however the steak was extremely tough and barely edible! I was so disappointed! Last Sunday I ordered the roast beef. It came without gravy!

Not been before but met up with my dad, his partner and my sister's for midweek get together. They had a promotion on for 50% off mains so was very busy, but alas you expect that. They also do a fixed price menu, which possibly for us would have worked out cheaper so best check when ordering.

Was told straight away there was about 40 min wait for food, but liked the honesty and as it so happened was not as long as that anyway.

Had prawn cocktail which was lovely, followed by steak. Not usually a fan of steak out as never cooked how I like it and hit and miss. However, this was beautiful, cooked to perfection and very tasty. 4 of us had steak, all asked for it differently and all came out perfectly. Have been to more expensive, sometimes actually places that specialises in steaks , and not as nice.

Service very good. Only downside is they need more car parking spaces as car park rammed, but i can't see how they could do that really.

Great atmosphere, good and friendly service. I had Sunday roast, reasonable price for food quality. They took a while to serve the food, otherwise a great experience.

Absolutely disgusting, missing x2 portions of chips, missing salad of the burger. Order the "turkey carvery" you'd be better off buying a ready made one from Iceland. Was missing the roasties, veg were hard, one small slice of turkey, Yorkshire burnt and cold. The entire order was cold and inedible, went straight in the bin! (would recommend getting a new chef)

Popped in for the first time on a Monday lunchtime, registered with the Ember Inns app - which granted me and my partner, who has also just registered, a free drink upon arrival.

Sat down to peruse the menu, and noticed that there was also an offer for 50% off Mains running for the next few days, so this sweetened the deal even more.

Order:

2 x Cow and Chick Burgers
-No tomato

2 x Beef Dripping Gravy

The app is really well written, offering customisation options for most items, where applicable.

The food order was fulfilled quickly and efficiently and was delivered to our table with a friendly smile.

The burgers were well-seasoned, nicely cooked and were fairly decent quality ingredients. For the price, even without the deal, there are certainly no complaints here.

The gravy was also very nice, could’ve been a bit thicker - but that is personal taste.

The pub itself is well laid out with a spacious and inviting layout, and a nice calm atmosphere.

Order was fulfilled promptly

Had our first takeaway roast dinner from the North Star as our kitchen is out of action due to building work. WOW it was delicious, big portions and very reasonably priced. Will be definitely be on our No1 list for takeaways

I would have given it 4.5 if I could. It is a very nice pub. The staff are normally very friendly. Sometime they need more stall working, and the toilets are not great. Normally fairly good range of beers, but sometimes several are off.
