Smithy Pond

Greeted by friendly staff. Given a table immediately on arrival. Food came quickly and was lovely. Not been here for a meal in many years. The restaurant was clean and nothing too much trouble staff checked that we were ok a few times. Very good experience I really enjoyed it and would come back again.

Very friendly staff and the food was delicious too. Beautiful scenery and a play area for the kids also..... Travelled from Wakefield to this pub/restaurant and wasn't disappointed in any way at all...10/10

We had Sunday lunch i was taken out for a treat, I eaten it because i was hungry, it wasn't very hot the turkey was dried up and had a taste I cannot really describe, the Yorkshire pudding was like leather I found the cauliflower cheese under it, the tender stem broccoli was really nice and the peas the carrots were ok and the gravy was fine but was in short supply. Really for just short of £11 you'd expect home cooked foods but too no avail anyway you live and learn from these places and really expect much more but obviously near enough must be the way forward unfortunately not for me I expect something a lot better.

Lovely staff, went with the family for a birthday. Food was served quickly and was lovely. The views of the pond from the outside seating area are stunning. Even after we finished eating and went to sit outside with a few drinks the staff couldn't do enough for us, offering to pop the outdoor heaters on for us. Lovely evening out generally lovey staff.

Such a lovely experience, we had a table booked but we’re running late due to awful traffic and they accommodated us so well. The food was amazing, really well cooked and great range of dishes on the menu!! 3 of us had the signature Hungers Chicken which went down a treat. The kids ribs was also brilliant, perfect portion size especially with a choice of two sides - my niece loved it! The staff were super friendly, especially Hannah who took our order and brought out the birthday cake we’d brought. Really special evening; thanks so much Smithy Pond ☺️

As usual, decent food since it's a Greene King pub, and this time we got table service - not used to that as any major chain pub! The staff were lovely. There is a beautiful view of a lake outside that would be great in summer!

Took a group for a Christmas meal, and they all enjoyed it, especially the dessert 🍨.
Staff were very good and patient, as was a large group. Christmas Crackers on table, which was well laid out.
Overall a very good experience

A pleasant evening. It's January, it's cold outside and it's your Birthday. Service was spot on. Food arrived quickly and was pretty good. Chicken sharer starter was lovely, the mussels in white wine was lacking in flavour but I'm a seafood fanatic. The burger was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We will be returning and trying other things on the menu.
