Cheap food, good food, and friendly staff. No wonder it was voted the best pub in Salisbury. Although it looks slightly grimy on the outside, the chicken and mushroom dishes and the fish and chips are great value, as is the welsh rarebit with ale!

Popped in for a bite to eat. Mistakenly ordered the 3 for £10 option each and almost exploded!! Great idea and probably next time will get only 3 +1 extra! Really tasty and nice outside area. Unfortunately let down by the very drunk students (at 6pm) throwing up at the end of the garden. Glad we moved due to how sunny it was otherwise would have been covered!!

Fabulous pub, great food, beer and hospitality. Great garden that stretches down to the river. Highly recommended, pop in and be surprised as we were

Cracking pub with a traditional vibe but modern sensibilities. Fab friendly staff, good ale, and yummy food. Good vegan options as well as traditional (well done) pub grub. Save some room for dessert!

A nice old pub, very friendly staff but not intrusive. Good home cooked Sunday roast and catered well for the vegan. We didn't bring the dog, but wished we had.

We were visiting Salisbury from Bristol. This pub was advertised as dog friendly meaning they as re ok with dogs but this place would be better described dog very friendly and inclusive. We got water and a treat.

The staff were great in general. We only had desserts and they were welcomely nostalgic. They have decent books and a lot going on. If we lived here we would be regulars.

This place was a diamond in the rough. The barman was amazing and the food was delicious ( thank you chef). Our hotel had limited food choices, so we took a walk in the rain and voilà the G&D. Thank you for looking after 10 of sodden travellers with a smile and a good welcome.
