The Inn at West End

Great stay, first time as well. Enjoyed the food and a good varied menu, prices fine. Lovely settings at the back garden and everything really well kept such as the hanging baskets and great to see a real pride in your business. Rooms were great and had everything i needed both to work and rest. Breakfasf was amazing too and so much choice. Staff great, very friendly and excellent service with a smile from everyone. Keep up the good work, highly recommended.

Very disappointing having been recommended to go there. I was ordering for myself and 2 guests, so 3 starters and 3 main courses; after each the waitress said "amazing", "awesome" "wonderful" or made some equally ridiculous comment. After each request throughout the evening we then got "no worries" or " no problem", again totally stupid and unnecessary remarks. Some of the food was acceptable but nothing was outstanding. We waited 15 minutes for one large glass of wine including 2 reminders. A lot of staff training is required here.

My wife booked a table for 8 people here for my 50th birthday as we have been here on several previous occasions & have always found it to be impeccable in both food & service ,however on this occasion it was a slightly different experience ……..on arrival only 4 place settings were laid out instead of 8 & this took some time to rectify ,drinks were ordered but these took quite a long time to arrive despite several reminders ,the food was ordered but on arrival some of it was not up to the usual standards we have come to expect from this establishment,some of our group mentioned that their dishes were ‘bland’ ,two of our group had prawn linguine but thought it watery & tasteless ,another had the west end burger but again said it had no flavour ……..my choice & several others however had a lovely meal so not sure as to why the difference in dishes was so wide ?…………the service also varied between ‘confused & lacklustre’…….several times we had to ask for drinks & although being attended to by several waitresses none seemed to know exactly what we’d ordered or simply forgot about our drinks !…..there was another large birthday party dining at the same time as us & when we reminded a waitress about our drinks her reply was ……”oh sorry ,we are just really busy with another booking “………..surely EVERY customer is as important as the next regardless of the size of the party ,needless to say we were less than impressed with that response ,surely you need to make sure you have enough staff to cope with however many customers your establishment can accommodate ?……….overall a slightly disappointing experience considering what we have come to expect from here ………..despite that we will return as this might well have been a ‘one off’ episode & I understand that things like this do happen so will try once more at a later date & hope that the experience is back up to previous standards !

Cant say enough good things about this place. The food is lovely and every member of staff i have ever spoken to is so friendly and accommodating. We recently stay at a hotel 20 mins away but still went here for lunch!

Festive Christmas Lunch, the food was Superb, 9/10 Staff rated it the Best Christmas lunch they'd ever had, Starter, Main & Dessert, so much so, we requested the chef came from the kitchen to be personally praised and thanked for his outstanding cooking.

Service, was welcoming, enthusiastic and extremely attentive. Nothing was too much and they even put Christmas music on at our request :-) Excellent.

Don’t often leave 1 star reviews but unfortunately our Sunday roast was very poor quality. The staff also forget to serve our side vedge with our meal which we had to ask for. This arrived as we had nearly finished our main course and again was of poor quality. Need to up your game guys or you’re going to lose customers!

Eaten here a few times before and loved it. Came back for Boxing Day dinner + overnight stay and the food and service just gets better and better. The rooms are well above normal pub standard, more like a boutique hotel! The staff here are consistently warm and welcoming, whether you're here for dinner or breakfast - attentive without being too in your face. A real gem of a pub and will defo stay over again. 5 stars well deserved 👍👌

Well furnished, comfortable rooms which are very quiet and you don't need to be a plumber to work the shower ! Lots of choice for breakfast which was plentiful, well cooked and presented. We will definitely stay again.
