Stop here for lunch, had a set two course meal, good price, but could be a better selection, only 3 starters and 3 mains to choose from, and there was no lunch menu?? It was either set menu or a la carte, not great when you just want a snack or sandwich, food was ok , the steak in the salad took a bit of chewing, the one I had with the salmon was fine, but the salad was a bit on the boring side.
Pub itself is very nice and the outside too , done a great job updating the place. Staff were very good too

You could drive by this pub/restaurant thinking just another pub but that's a mistake - this is one of the best pub restaurants I've been to in the area. The food is excellent, the staff (Lisa) was super helpful/friendly, setting indoors or outdoors is excellent. Highly recommend it 🥂

Great meal! Lovely pub will definitely return.

Edit. I have returned 4 times now and the meals have been amazing every single time.

Outside area is a very relaxed space to be with lots of greenery, so that it feels open but not busy. Serving staff are very helpful. A very good selection of drinks.

Read about this as a good dining experience so went along for lunch.
Lovely garden setting for our table and great staff who gave us a nice welcome.
Food and drink is a little upmarket but worth the extra for the quality.
Nice and relaxing with an adults only policy though dogs are allowed on leads which will suit our daughter when she visits.
Will go back with some friends now I know it is good.

Our local pub for over fifty years so unfortunately had not checked website. Walked across on a lovely evening for quick drink in garden with the dogs too. Drinks ordered at bar and brought out. Then a lady came out and politely told us that the baby was not allowed, we could finish our drinks and leave. My husband did not swear but was amused and said surely a sleeping baby under three weeks old was not a problem or causing a disturbance to the ambience of the garden. We agreed we would drink up and leave. Then the lovely landlady came out to tell us the same and explained that they had previously asked customers to leave and could not make an exception but it was ok for us to finish our drinks. My husband did say again that it was unbelievable that a sleeping baby was banned from the garden. Then apparently it takes three people to tell us. The landlord came out stating it was his pub, his rules and didn't we see the sign on the gate, well no unfortunately we did not. I really couldn't believe the attitude of this man. He said he didn't want to attract the wrong people. My poor daughter was looking forward to a small glass of wine after over nine months and a quiet drink in the lovely garden, well this man spoilt that. I am really pleased the couple have turned this pub around into a really pleasant pub with good clientele but I was naïve enough to think that a babe in pram would be no problem in the garden. As I say we have sat in this garden on occasions for over fifty years so had not checked the website. The sign on the gate actually read, we noted on leaving, "Over 18's only drinking. Over 12's allowed for dining. Smart casual dress. No work wear." I suggest they add "no children or babies allowed on the premises" to make it clearer. We were smart casual dressed, we were over 18 for drinking so we met those rules! Poor baby boy has been banned from a pub at under three weeks old which we were able to laugh about on the way home - wonder how many more times in his life that might happen.

What a hidden gem this place is. Owners have clearly gone to town on exterior and interior. Then there's the food! Scallops, steak, shared puddings...all to die for! If I get the chance, shall return.
