Just taken over as the new owners! Previous owner been in for 13 years and so sad that the pub has been run down. We are running the pub with its six letting rooms and comfy pub area with great pub food. Function room is a working progress hoping to get it open later in the year. Look forward to hosting different events over the year. We welcome dogs and children with menus for all.
Now offer a great Sunday roast (booking essential)
Monday curry and a drink for only £10

A really friendly family run pub. Excellent home cooking. Bed and breakfast and parking. Live music evenings and other events too

Small dog friendly pub that does amazing Sunday roasts. Great portions, best I’ve had in a long time! Roast Potatoes hot and crispy, superb stuffing and lashings if the best gravy I’ve tasted. Staff very friendly and pleasant and a nice roaring fire to keep the chill off. Thanks for a great lunch

Gary, Emma and Chelsea made us extremely welcome. We held my wife's 50th Birthday party there. Nothing was too much trouble. Warm and friendly service in a lovely old English pub, with an open fire and great atmosphere. Highly recommended

I stay in the area every week and The Blacksmiths Arms is my accommodation of choice. Emma and Gary are lovely owners, very attentive and super-friendly. Food is always good. Decent beers and a great cooked breakfast if you want it.

We were looking for a place near Newhaven as we were taking a morning ferry to Dieppe. The Blacksmith Arms is one of those rare special finds. A very warm welcome from Emma and Gary and on this particular evening they had a local open mike evening which was great. The rooms are perfectly adequate and the owners are planning more improvements so look forward to coming back. Thoroughly recommended.
