Visited today for the first time under new management. WOW my new favourite place -will definitely be back. It has been beautifully refurbished, the ambience and vibe is lovely, staff amazing and food even better. Top marks to the chef Marc. We visited for my dad's birthday lunch and he had the best day. He is a tough customer and said it was the best soup he had ever had and the fish and chips were second to none. We will definitely be back , probably by the weekend it was that amazing. Thank you for a lovely day.

Lovely place to sit outside next to the canal with a drink. Great service and great surroundings inside and out. Lots of free parking. The decor looks brand new. We didn't have any food so can't comment on that but there was plenty of choice and vegan menu available.

Booked for 6 of us at lunchtime on a Sunday .
Loved the new refurb looked great. Yvonne was especially helpful and demonstrated excellent customer service. Food did take a while to get to us but we were not disappointed when it arrived.
Absolutely delicious and generous portions. The wait allowed us to have a drink and enjoy good conversation. We will be back 😃

Disappointing first course. We had the Buddha salad. Not much salad and was charged another £5 to add some chicken. A bit of a rip off!!! Puddings were delicious. Felt we should have come for coffee and Puddings. Dinner was really expensive fir what it was. The pub is in a lovely setting. Great on a nice day

Not sure if the waiter was new or just not very good as he didn't seem to know what was on the menu as we ordered ! Starters were lovely but that's were it ended for me -my main (chicken escolope) was over fried by 5 mins at least -you could tell when the waiter put it on the table -he was back shortly after to ask if all was OK-well sadly the chicken was dry ,tuff and not edible -so I returned it -it had arrived with the garlic butter in a separate bowl and some nice looking chips -the new kiev ? -was called escalope before arrived -small hard chips this time -and swimming in garlic butter -not separate as before ! Hey ho paid the bill ,but I doubt I'll be back any time soon -shame as the reviews were quite good ! Maybe a bad Friday tea time ? It wasn't that busy either !!

Pass this pub every day going to/from work! Decided to stop and have lunch, so glad I did! The setting/views are fantastic and as for the food WOW! had the lunch menu rather than the main menu (smaller portions) the flavours in the salt and pepper chicken are immense! The fish and chips were perfect! A light and crispy batter with pure white cod cooked to perfection! Will definitely be going back again!

A lovely home made Sunday lunch with great service. Superb al-dente vegetables, thick hand carved beef, lovely light Yorkshires and a tangy horseradish sauce too! Our wine was iffy at first but was promptly replaced with another bottle, which was perfect. Thank you for a great meal.

Had an extremely good meal here this evening! Every part of the evening was perfect. Really friendly & attentive staff to take your order and check if you need anything, the food was truly superb - we had the greenlip mussels, garlic bread w/cheese, steak & ale pie and ham & mushroom pizza. Would highly recommend! Nice views of the canal too - especially if it was nicer weather 👍
