The Drummond

A cracking pub a short walk from the town centre. Interesting interior, great range of beers and well prepared food. Table service and order off your phone too.
Been back again twice now and can report it is consistently good. The food was excellent, try the Chicken and Chorizo skewers 😋 also previously had the sausage and mash and it's possibly the tastiest I've had, and a good choice of beers / wine etc

We had Sunday roast today and I was not impressed. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt and hollow. The chicken was dry. Its the worst Sunday roast I have ever eaten. This pub need to employ a real chef and stop using students to cook the food. If your stomach is a hole that needs filling go and eat at this pub. The students employed to service customers were friendly but they need to remove the student from the kitchen and employ a real chef. Shame on the pub for using cheap labour.

Love it here but a bit pricy.

Edit: apologies this is a misleading review. It's an exceptional pub, absolutely my favourite place to drink in Guildford. (And excellent food also). The price comment is unfair...Guildford in general is "a bit pricey" but as per Craig's below response this is absolutely reflective of Guildford so unfair of me to call our the Drummond. It is, most definitely, competitively priced for the location, and the atmosphere is second to none. Thoroughly recommend 💕

We were very underwhelmed by the roast on Sunday. We had to send it back as it was barely warm. On its return the meat tasted as though it had been microwaved. Very thin gravy and very few vegetables
Our table water never arrived despite asking again.
The food here was always excellent but sadly now it's just the same as any other pub in the same chain.

I’ve been coming to The Drummond for years, the staff change from time to time but they are always a friendly crew. It is an excellent place to spend sometime either inside or in the surprisingly extensive garden considering it is in the town centre. They normally have an extensive selection of draft beer and if you want a bite to eat there is a great selection of snacks and meals.

Service makes all the difference , had one of the best fish & chips which the chef was kind enough to personalize followed by Toffee pudding which is not to be missed

Great pub, lovely outdoor seating area with fairylights and heaters! The food is fantastic and I've been here for work dinners with a large group. The food always arrives together and perfect service

Good for a drink, interesting beers selection. Usually not great for food imo, you wait a lot for every kind of food, plus I an from Italy so not a big fan in general of their menu. But again, perfect pub to have a drink and east some starters to share with your friends...you will just have to wait a bit! Interesting patio outside, with cool lights and warming lights.
