As wet and weary walkers we received such a warm welcome at this lovely pub. Lovely surroundings and excellent beer. We felt bad dripping our wet clothes on the floor but it was no trouble to the lovely staff, they even lit the fire for us to warm up next to. Will definitely go back, the food looked and smelt lovely though we didn't get a chance to eat on that occasion so looking forward to trying it.

Absolutely appalled by the service we received this weekend. Booked for an evening meal for a hen weekend months in advance, as it was the local pub to where we were staying.
We phoned up in advance as we had a member of the party who has complex dietary requirements and told not a problem at all! We arrived to find a very rude manager who rolled her eyes and suggested the lady could eat cereal and almond milk! (Not so funny when it’s announced infront of pub full of strangers)
Once the party had ordered, our meals arrived quickly but not surprising as the chicken was raw!!! Two of the girls cut into their chicken Kiev which was practically still alive on their plate. We fetched the manager who gave no apology and kept claiming they had probed the chicken.
Meals replaced and a bottle of wine for an apology given between 12 ladies - accompanied with ‘this is so you forget to give us a bad review!’
Once I came to pay the bill the manager was nowhere to be seen, plates cleared by another waitress. It felt like she was now avoiding any potential confrontation and I’m not surprised as we were still charged for our raw meals!
Absolutely shocking service and disgusting food. We were very lucky no one got seriously ill.

This little pub is lovely. I didn’t manage to try the food, but it was decorated pretty nicely and was very close to our campsite. There was not much around our campsite so I’m glad this little pub was there. My friends and I meet a few of the other campers at this pub and we all got on swimmingly. This little pub helped us meet other campers, gave us something to do and made the camping experience more enjoyable.

Slow service, shocking waited over 40 minutes. Just for 2 ice creams. After getting fed up with waiting. Was told we forgot Then to be told we can't have our original order. Thankfully only passing from day out. Wont be visiting again. Also other group of dinners sat outside was served meals seperately. So by the time all meals served some of group had finished. Not great when out as a group. Meals being sent back and staff just stood around chatting.

Waited 40 minutes for our food. My husband's was ok. My Veggie was burger was burnt, chilli jam couldn't find it. Salad with it was more of a fruit salad. A very very small portion of chips assorted shapes & sizes & the slaw was shop brought.

We chose this pub as a halfway meeting point for lunch and a natter and what a lovely experience we had. Great coffee; much needed on a drizzly Saturday. The food arrived really nicely presented, more than just pub grub, and was absolutely delicious. We stayed for another coffee / pot of tea, sat comfortably and toasty in front of the fire nattering away for a total stay of nearly four hours. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly and it was the perfect setting for a much needed catch up. Thank you!

Not particularly pubby if you understand. The emphasis appears to be on food so its not a particularly comfy homely sort of place.
The food was really rather good but its not fancy, just pub food.
It's right on the main road only a couple of feet back. There's no other pubs for a few miles.
