Lovely old pub / restaurant with a fab garden that has beach huts if you want shelter from the elements.
It is situated very close to Mudeford Quay and has free limited parking on site.
Its welcoming, clean with very pleasant staff.
I didn't eat here but was told the food is excellent.

The Nelson tavern is relatively basic as far as decor is concerned but quite welcoming . The restaurant is down a few stairs and has a nautical decor, i.e timbers and ropes along with ship plans as a large mural. It's OK and works quite well.
The food is good and well presented at reasonable prices. Waiting times are fine and served to your table by friendly staff. Alcohol prices a little high in my opinion, example, medium glass of wine and a pint of bitter was a few pennies under £10,00. Not unusual but the same drinks in a Wetherspoon pub would be under £7.00. But you have to bight the bullet and enjoy what you went in the pub for. Our group of six adults had a good experience.

Attended today to watch coverage of the Queen's funeral at Windsor.
Very pleased to see 2 TVs with BBC and good audio quality too.
Completely disgusted by the behaviour of two or three individuals wisecracking and wanting their 15 minutes of fame on this special day.A once in a lifetime event.
Staff should have paid a little more respect for the occasion rather than pound notes of some regulars. This would never have happened when Peter ran the pub.

I went in for a meal with some friends who live in mudeford we were put out back as it was busy in the front. We were the only people outback so conversations were easy to hear. The food was brilliant and the service was fine ,after the meal i did wait a while for the server to return I was going to have another beer, I decided against as I had waited so long and the others had finished their drinks. I can't really comment on the bar and the front facilities as I was out back. I would definitely go there again for a meal if I get the opportunity and would love to try the front bar and it's facilities. All in all a pleasant evening with outstanding food and a good selection of beers.

Lovely service from a very welcoming team behind the bar and Sophie serving at the table. The food was great; I recommend the chicken in a brioche bun! We had a small problem with our order and the response was excellent - proper customer service. Will definitely return.
