The Ship Inn

Had dinner at this pub because it was the only place that let us order at 8:55pm before the kitchen shut at 9pm (the Talbot for example didn’t let us) so this is why I give it 4* but the food itself was not very good, 3* for the food. Service was friendly and it has a great atmosphere. There were spiderwebs and spiders at our table so it’s not the cleanest but added to the rustic-ness😅

I would like to say that because the young lady who served me was pleasant the experience was at least OK, but the surly attitude of the remainder behind the bar was very unwelcoming. Can't comment on the food as I was put off ordering any, but punters outside seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Convivial local village pub.. easy atmosphere and community spirited.. visiting from NZ and glad to order my first English pub drink from here in 4 years!

Visited the Ship today for a late lunch. Hadn't been for a while but was not dissapointed. Still the same good food, good service and an excellent choice of beverages. Some things don't need to change and the Ship is an excellent example of that theory.

Very traditional old Inn, with a friendly welcome at the bar. We only intended to go for a quick drink on a Sunday afternoon, but decided to have the roast dinner.... THE BEST ROAST SUNDAY LUNCH I've ever had out... So tasty, quality ingredients, well cooked and amazing value. Will definitely return to eat there again.

Absolutely delicious beef stroganoff. I had it with their triple-cooked skin-on chips which were equally distinctively excellent. With its great old-fashioned atmosphere, good choice of beers and such good staff this is an excellent place to eat and drink.

We have had several superb meals here recently. All very tasty & home cooked, even the puds. The specials are especially good.

Staff are very friendly. Front part of the pub seems pleasant.

Unfortunately, we decided to frequent the rear section of the pub to play a few games of pool. This was cut short as it was absolutely freezing!
