I have been going to the halfway since the 70s when the Connahs Quay Nomads were in the back garden. Its not a bad pub, been there for over 100 years in various guises (check your old maps). Had a few giggles once when the pub cat escaped into the bar and leapt up to lick my plate clean :D which led to some laughs as the staff tried to catch puss. Overall not a bad place and grub not bad either. had a couple of bad meals and a fair few great ones too, cant moan.

I really wanted to say that this was a great meal as I am really keen to promote local business and we really need a large pub with food deals in Connahs Quay....however, the negatives, my wife ordered the ‘battered’ fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas. What turned up was a breaded fish which certainly wasn’t battered and no tartare sauce. I ordered the chicken and ribs which was nice except the onion rings didn’t turn up till my wife went and complained, what turned up were 3 tiny rings. If they want to compete with Wetherspoons and the Broad Oak then they need to raise the quality standards quickly. On the positive side, the pub was clean and had a good atmosphere with a large beer garden. The staff were great and I’m sure that things will improve with time, so we will be back. I just hope the fish becomes ‘battered’ in the meantime

Nice big pub , unfortunately was no chef when we visited so we're unable to eat , they assured me a new one was starting today . Staff were lovely free pool when we were there (sunday). And a garden with a few little climbing frames in overall nice place could spend an afternoon here with the family 👪

Nice place food ok. But parents letting their kids running around as it was a school playground, is not good and very dangerous. Hot food glass etc.

Was here today 23/5/21 to find it under new management and what a turn around.
The food was spot on, service fast and friendly.
Ive been coming to this pub on and off since I was a kid and have strong ties as most of my family have frequened and worked here at one time or another.
The atmosphere inside seems to have lifted and slowly gettin back to it's best.
Also the Sunday Dinner was exceptional and will Definitely be calling in again well Done Mark and his bar manager Yvette👌🏼👍🏻🤞🏼

The food wasnt cooked properly. Told a staff member and she just said "oh" and walked off. A member of staff used a menu to pour a drink (disgusting!)

Very angry. Roast dinner was horrible.

The food was very good. Our server was very friendly, but the food took a long time to arrive but they recognised this and gave us a complimentary side dish without us having to complain. Will be coming back again.
