Very pleasant evening meal there, food was good but a touch pricey, a well stocked bar and friendly staff. Found a small bit of something on my clean fork, hence the 4 stars as opposed to 5. Not too many tables crammed in and a wonderful homely atmosphere.
Besides that couldn’t fault the place though and would recommend for a good pub meal!

A quaint little pub/restaurant in a quaint little village. The place smelled of my grandma's cooking as we walked in. Single menu at the front entrance with very limited choice of dishes. Quite pricey - but very good quality food that everyone enjoyed.
They have limited space and limited ability in the kitchen to cater to special requirements, so we felt a little "boxed in" to their menu. For the kids, we asked if they could do eggs, beans and chips as they only had meat options for kids - at first the answer from the chef was no. But later the waitress came out and said he agreed to do it. So in the end everyone had a good meal and pleasant experience.
It's very much like going back in time with all the old decorations and menu style. You get the pros of that (quaint, home cooking) and the cons (unflexible menu).
The other thing was that we finished our meal and the waitress brought us the bill before we asked for it. That felt a little strange, as we were planning to order desert. We saw others near us eating deserts, but felt it rude to ask once the bill was delivered. Almost felt like they wanted us to leave (maybe they didn't want the young kids there?).

Had such a wonderful stay with bed and breakfast and evening meal. Thoroughly recommend Tanronnen. We had a beautifully cooked evening meal that was straight forward food with no complicated ingredients. Just lovely to have real food. Thank you. Our room which was in the rear of the hotel had amazing views of the mountains and was so quiet, Bliss. A real sole charger.

We popped in this week looking for a meal as we were staying in the village on holiday and everywhere else was either booked up or not serving food.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and the food was proper home cooked fayre.
A good pint too in a traditional looking pub.
We would certainly come back again when in the area.

Loved the homemade lamb and leek pie! Tasty fall off the bone lamb chops.Staff lovely and friendly. Nice relaxing atmosphere, would definitely visit again

I cant express my thankfulness of the pub. It is far by the best pub in UK and I highly recommend people to visit. My dad and I visited the pub every night for a week and I think that says a lot about the great atmosphere that was there. Thank you Allan and the rest of the staff members!

Popped in for a drink after visiting the beautiful village and surroundings. We were greeted by a grumpy “you can only stay if you want to eat too”. And yet apparently it’s a pub not a restaurant. The pub around the corner was very friendly and welcoming I’d suggest going there if you just want a drink.

On a Saturday night I was concerned about table space for our group of six but we were easily seated and a table moved. There was a wait to order as we were there early but once we had ordered the starters, mains and deserts came out impressively quickly.
The food was excellent and included the best chips any of us had eaten for a long time.
My only regret is that I wasn’t more adventurous than ordering my safe option of scampi (which was still lovely).
The building itself is comfortable and clean and the staff are attentive and polite.
The drinks aren’t cheap but that’s a sacrifice that I’m personally willing to make for a lovely experience.
