So we found this amazingly friendly pub and restaurant while holidaying in the local area. We have a dog so finding places to be able to go and eat at is difficult. It is right in the centre of the village too. And judging by the people that were in the bar id say the locals enjoy it too.
We were greeted as soon as we entered and everyone had smiles on their faces. We even got introduced to the landlady who was lovelly too.
As soon as we entered the doggy area one of the members of staff arrived with 2 doggy treats for our dog and another who was already there.
Nothing was too much of a problem for anyone. And smiles were in plentiful supply too.
Onto the menu choices and it was a reasonable selection all of what you may expect from a small village pub. There were a couple of items out of stock on the menu but we were ok with that.
When the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Great size portions and was obviously cooked fresh. And after speaking to our waiter most of it was home cooked and hand made.
My only criticism would be that the food could be a little hotter. I think it would be as simple as serving on hotter plates.
Overall superb find in a little village. Lovely staff and some good grub. We will definitely be going back when we next visit the area.

Strange last order times 10.15pm and food 7.30pm but what a lovely experience. Staff are magazine and food is true to previous customers downloaded pictures.
My food arrived fast. Landlady put on Sky sports and was advised to watch in the cool room (weather belter) my team lost but the pub won.

Food was amazing, good size steaks and pork chop. The male Staff who served us was amazing. Only constructive criticism is, chairs should be replaced as they are old and almost all are stained.
Will definitely comeback because of the food and welcoming staff.

We went for Sunday dinner and both had the Vegetable wellington, the whole meal was absolutely delicious!!
The customer service was great especially Kaylie our waitress.
Both my mum and myself can not remember when we had a meal as nice as this, would highly recommend 😊

Thank you to Paul and the staff at the Miner's for hosting our granddaughter's 16th birthday family get together. It was a very enjoyable evening and everything was done to make us feel welcome. Looking forward to many more family gatherings ....in the not too distant future perhaps .

We stayed closeby for 3 nights on a short break with our dog. We were made so welcome that we went back to eat twice. The food and staff are amazing. Try the steak and Guinness pie! Our dog is from a rescue and sometimes nervous, but wagged her tail, greeted everyone and turned into a diva each time she went in. Wish we'd got the staff names. Next time . . . .
