Me and my buddy stayed on the station caravan and camp site in Carrog, less than a ten minute walk from this pub. We had a perfectly seared fillet steak with real chips times two and swilled down with a couple of pints of real locally brewed light ale each, all for around fifty quid (worth every penny). Overlooking the river and picturesque medieval Bridge it was an amazing spot for tea. Special, and definitely recommended.

Lovely food, decent selection of beers in an 18th century pub. Indoor and outdoor seating with prompt and friendly service.

Good service, good food, good beers and a superb view of the River Dee from the patio area. It's all I want in a pub and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Amazing! Had a roast dinner each, sat on the terrace overlooking the beautiful river. Staff friendly. Food lovely.

The location is lovely and the pub is a nice traditional place. We sat on terrace overlooking the river. Our meal consisted of standard pub fare - fish and chips and steak pie and chips. Both meals were unexceptional but acceptable and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a nice pint of JW lees.
The negative was the service. The waitress asked us if we would like 2more minutes to choose our food and we said yes. She then left us for over. 20 minutes and then took orders from 4 or 5 tables despite the fact that the people had only just arrived. We had to ask a waitress to take our order. It then took nearly 30 minutes for the food to arrive.

We dropped in on spec on Monday as we wanted some lunch on our way home from Wales. I had the scampi which was a very generous helping and excellent. My wife had the 5 bean chilli which they were making fresh as we arrived it was also excellent. Comfy pub good food good beer and an excellent view down to the river Dee.. what more could you ask
