This is a beautiful pub in Llangenny near Crickhowell. The food is lovely and plentiful with service to match both. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff were really welcoming, charming, homely and the pub very comfortable. The clientele were friendly too. The food was home cooked and hot. A nice relaxed atmosphere and our dog was also made welcome. Thank you

Enjoyed the food, locale and atmosphere so much that we came back a second evening. The two main pub rooms have a traditional pub feel, with two side rooms set up more like restaurants, and a couple of lovely pub garden areas outside. Parking gets cramped as the pub fills up, and a lot of people book tables ahead though we didn't wait to be seated... other than in line at the bar. Two local ales on tap - one a mellow IPA, the other a stronger brew. After a day's hiking in the hills, we really appreciated a good plate of tasty pub food at accessible prices. The mains come with good chunky chips/ new potatoes, edible salad and great sauces. The first evening's flavoursome rump steak with pepper sauce, lasagne, burger, IPA and carafe of water came to £45. Medium rare likely to be fully cooked by the time you eat it but it was still a good steak. The second evening's chicken stilton pie, side of veg, lasagne, burger, lemon meringue sundae, IPA and water came to £43. The boys liked the look of each other's meals so much, they swapped choices the second evening. Good routes locally to walk off a lunch or whet the appetite for dinner, including signposted along the river opposite the pub, through the popular Golden Grove campsite. We stopped off for refreshments mid-hike a few years ago and really enjoyed it but worth checking opening hours as not always open.
