We come here for the Sunday carvery cos it's the best around, great value for the money! Sorry only got a photo of the dessert, cos the carvery didn't stay on the plate long enough for a photo 😋😂

Edited 21st June 22
Finally remembered to take a photo of our carvery 😋

They do the most amazing carvery. We had the largest portion of meat .. turkey and gammon .. that we have ever had at any carvery , and it was cut thickly too. We asked if we could have a second Yorkie and was told. " Yes, of course you can". The food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be going back again ...and again.

I personally wouldn't eat here again. I ordered mac and cheese with a side of pigs in blankets. The mac and cheese tasted like it was from a packet and microwaved - not very nice and definitely not very cheesy. The pigs in blankets looked undercooked (not at all crispy) and had been cut up on top of my food so the bacon was no longer around the sausage.

The server who was new to the business, Beth, was amazing and offered me something else. I chose scampi and chips. The scampi was great but the chips were a bit underdone and not hot.

I wasn't planning to leave a review but then I went to the ladies' bathroom after eating. Of the 3 stalls, one was out of order, one didn't have a toilet seat and the 3rd the door wouldn't shut so it couldn't be locked.

Our server Beth and the person at the carvery, Alex, were really polite and friendly but the food was disappointing and the facilities were dreadful.

Mixed feelings about this place. I'm somebody who likes to find the positive so,on the positive side chef was doing his best, beef was delicious. But on the negative side turkey was slightly undercooked, chef was trying to do everything due to lack of staff. Veggies were running low and radio was too loud drowning out our conversation! Result, had desert at home, sorry.

What an awful experience tonight.
Came here after a lovely day out with some friends and family.
Ordered a meal each with several drinks.

Started with the drinks, took over half an hour to arrive for 2 cokes.
Then asked the waiter to check and his response was “it’ll be at least another 10 minutes”
The bar was empty, no one serving and no one waiting.
I asked if i can speak to a manger and was told no.

When our food came out i was completely and utterly disgusted.

For the child we ordered a pizza and chips, it was all stone cold to a point where it was inedible.

We then had x2 chick and mix meals- both cold, both undercooked and both looked like they were from McDonald’s.

Then my friend had a mixed grill- came stone cold, meat wasn’t cooked how he wanted.
Came with a raw sausage and hardly cooked tomato.

Now the carvery wasn’t too bad but we had ordered extra to share around-
The Yorkshire puddings were hard enough to smash on the table.
You can see they had been burnt but no effort to discard. They were absolutely disgusting.

The waiter had no clue on what food was what. Had to repeat myself at least 2 times and replied extremely rudely.
Walking around with a stroppy face.

Now the toilets.

Women toilets- missing panels to the sink which is a hazard as there are chemicals exposed.
Couldn’t lock one of the toilets.
Other toilet was out of order.
Middle toilet was missing a toilet seat and couldn’t lock the end toilet.

Mens toilets-

Partner used the toilet at 6pm, reported that there was sick in the sink. Staff member replied with ok and walked off.

As we were leaving he used the toilet again (8pm) and there was still sick. Another member of the public was also outraged by this and both reported it to a member of staff and again, nothing was acted upon.

The carvery had flies around it. Open sauces that had been there for hours. Flys sitting on the sauces and flying around them.

Staff were rudely spoken and just didn’t care.

Won’t ever be returning. Extremely dissatisfied.

The Inn was very busy on a Sunday evening when we visited. Three of our party had the carvery which was ok but there was no roast potatoes and no turkey left at 6pm! Two people had meals from the menu neither were of good quality. Steak not cooked as requested and one meal was missing some of the advertised ingredients. The place was not very clean with rubbish all over the floor. There was no attempt by staff to clear this up. I visited the toilets which were a nightmare a very wet floor with paper everywhere. One toilet totally blocked clearly hadn't been checked for a long time. This was the first time we had visited and we will not be returning. As this was a birthday celebration it was very disappointing. Would not recommend.

Had lunch with my family today. Bar service was slow even though it was quiet. Ordered food, had to wait a fair while. Carvery was great, gammon not bad, lasagne not bad but salad was soft with edges going brown, clearly past it's best. I ordered a side order of chips which didn't show up even after asking about them!!
I had a refund for those, only because I asked for it.
Lovely place but had higher hopes for a lovely meal and service. Doubt I will go there again .

I don’t usually leave negative reviews and I try to be as reasonable and fair as I possibly can.

If I could give this place zero stars or negative, I would.

We came for a family meal. The pub looked half empty- but lots of tables still hadn’t been cleaned away and were dirty.

When I went to the bar to order our meal there were bar staff in the background Audibly moaning and complaining about how “busy” it was and getting “pissed off can’t we close the kitchen”.

We weren’t informed that despite the pub being half empty that we would be waiting nearly an hour for food. Even though I overheard multiple other guests being told that there was a wait.

When the food eventually came, the chips that came with the burgers tasted stale and weren’t very warm at all. The burger was assembled as if someone had randomly thrown the ingredients angrily onto the plate inside the bun.

The steak we ordered “rare” came out more well done than anything. It was not consumable. We had to send it back.

Meanwhile in the background the staff were all still visibly distressed and continued moaning in-front of all the customers about how annoying their job was.

I’d love to know how food that takes so long to prepare can taste like it’s been left out for hours and reheated. I’d also love to know how a place that is visibly not busy can cause so much mayhem.
