Delicious home cooked carvery and plentiful. Sympathetically refurbished over the last year, updated and very smart but retaining character. The home made cheesecake was heaven and we left feeling very full, relaxed and sleepy! Dogs are welcomed in the bar.

We stumbled across this lovely place whilst on holiday and I cannot fault it.
Food was amazing, we both really enjoyed it, puddings were also incredible!
Staff are super friendly and make us feel so welcome.
Just an all round amazing team, shame we live so far away otherwise we’d be here all the time!

We've just had a lovely carvery roast lunch.
Great quality and good value for the amount you can pile on your plate, veg wise.
Lovely staff
Good prices

Came on here after a booking elsewhere fell through. Was nearest place for a carvery which I really fancied! Reasonably priced food is nice the meat was tender and lovely. Excellent mash! Definitely homemade and definitely come again staff was nice and couldn’t do more to help! If your unsure about coming here don’t hesitate … just come and see for yourself you won’t regret it!

My wife, myself and my daughter and son in law had a holiday cottage for the weekend and this lovely pub was recommended by a local for Sunday lunch, so I called Friday night and booked.
Now, both myself and my wife cook fantastic roast dinners ( in our opinion!) and on the rare occasion we go out for a Sunday roast, I’m left disappointed with the bullet peas, stewed cabbage and perennially “naff” roast potatoes.
However, I cannot recommend the New Inn highly enough.
Every element of the meal was cooked to perfection, the beef was tender ( and plentiful!) and all the veg was perfectly cooked and very tasty, even the cauliflower cheese was bloody fantastic, but OMG, the roast potatoes!!! Very nearly as good as mine!! 😂
The only disappointing thing about the New Inn, is that it is not located in Newport, but no-doubt I would be double my current weight if it was!!
Fantastic, place, epic food, helpful, attentive friendly staff. AAA++++
The good people of the local area don’t know how lucky they are!
Thank you New Inn people for a lovely meal.

Called on the off chance of a Sunday lunch being available, delighted to be offered a carvery!
Had a well spiced parsnip soup (meal in itself!) followed by a fantastic roast, lots of beautifully cooked veggies, Yorkshire pud, stuffing, colly cheese and gallons of hot gravy. Protein choices were Turkey, Roast Silverside or nut roast, we can recommend the Turkey or nut roast, couldn't tell you about desserts as we were stuffed! If you're hungry and you want hearty, I'd honestly vouch for the New Inn. The team are very warm and welcoming, cheerful and chatty, felt like you arrive a stranger and leave a friend. 5* all round!

Our new favourite local pub. Perfect place for popping in for a pint after a day out walking. Lovely team who made us feel very welcomed.
