We were absolutely delighted with our experience of the Carew Inn. We stayed overnight in one of their en-suite double rooms; spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and tastefully furnished. Had a good meal ( huge portions!) in the restaurant and sat in the cosy bar later. Breakfast was also delicious ( good coffee too!) We were especially impressed by the team of friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Carew Inn for a great visit!

Yes, the rumours are true! It's a very posh place. We came for a family gathering. The staff were very nice and catered to us really well. The setting and decor inside is well thought out. I appreciated that. The food was okay nothing to blow you out if I'm being honest. They're is free parking available if you need to know

Phoned to book in advance and booked a nice table for my husband's birthday upstairs. When we got there they had placed us downstairs, when I mentioned that I had booked upstairs they basically said oh yes I see that in the comments but unfortunately the tables have been arranged and you can't go up there any more. Really poor customer service and no offer for complementary drinks or anything ! So we left.

Very friendly, welcoming, warm, coal fire in the bar! Three real ales on handpump, nicely cooked pub dinners. Comfortable dog-friendly room, excellent breakfast. Lovely morning walk around the castle, lake and mill. Recommended.

Stayed in the two bedroom character cottage attached to the Carew inn pub run by the owners of the pub. Very clean, well appointed and cosy. The bed was very comfortable. Dog friendly with free car parking. We had Christmas Sunday lunch in the pub. The plate was so full of meat, roasties and trimmings we has difficulty in finding room for the veg ,supplied separate.

Lovely staff, delicious food and very dog friendly. And next to a castle! I don't think you could ask for more. Loved this pub with a roaring fire to warm you up after a leisurely stroll around Carew Castle (check opening times of the castle as it was closed when we visited over the Christmas period). Lots of good vegetarian options. Not sure if there are toilets which are more accessible but the ones that we were directed to were upstairs, if you have mobility issues it would probably be advised to call.

Excellent Food, Service and Welcome!
On a dismal January evening we popped in for dinner at this local Inn, have to say the food was excellent, as was the welcome and service. Warm, cosy and very clean traditional Pub - will be back!

Lady's behind the bar were both welcoming and efficient. Food was excellent and swiftly served . Definitely recommend and will be going back in the very near future.
