Lovely overnight camper stop. Great food, reasonably priced. We rang in advance to confirm it would be okay to park overnight on our way to the Lake District, they couldn't have been more welcoming. The car park even has two hook ups for campers to plug in to! Seemed rude not to!

Fully recommend and will use again to break the journey.

Stopped off for a quick pint, the log burner fire burning warm and a warm greeting from the bar person. Cask ale on pull made my day and a good pint of an IPA was amazing. The pub was quite and welcoming with the smell of beautiful food in a backroom very good.
So we stayed at the inn over a weekend in a standard room and ate in the restaurant on the night time, as a B&B somewhere to dump your stuff ,shower and sleep it was good. The standard room is very small and in the eaves with sloping ceiling (see photo). The food here is amazing, very tasty and generous portions.

Group of four of us went for a meal having not been here for a long time.
Great service, great food. We had baked Camembert and garlic mushrooms as starters and mains were chicken Caesar salad, scampi, lasagne and I had the burger. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Total bill with drinks and a bottle of wine £95. Very reasonable.
The menu is quite basic but very good.

All you could really want from a B&B.
We stayed overnight with friends before a nearby wedding. Very cosy and welcoming and had a good night's sleep in a clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and decent shower.

The food was great - evening meals were tasty and good sized portions! Plenty of different local beers and other drinks to choose from.

Breakfast was also very nice and freshly cooked.

All the staff were very welcoming and went above what we expected with a few requests.

Very good value and will definitely stay again in we are in the area.

Doggies welcome. Beautiful Sunday Roast carvery style, friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced, lovely home made style desert 👍👍 Top marks, will definitely revisit when we're in the area

We go to The old hand and diamond every Sunday for a carvery, highly recommend it, food is lovely , choose different meats or all the same, roasties, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding ,stuffing, carrots, green cabbage, red cabbage,boiled potatoes, creamy leeks, and several sauces and gravy, delicious, then if you have room , there is a variation of different desserts, food is always piping hot.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating, booking is advisable.

A Group of us stayed weekend of 2-4th Dec for our Bike Club Christmas dinner we had a fantastic time the food was great the atmosphere was fantastic and Nicky, Jess and all the staff could not do enough for us. So Thank You All for an amazing weekend.
