sorry loved the old heron marsh. Had Sunday dinner 14th October at 1.30pm. wasn't that busy at waiting area . Was seated quick .But went up to pay for carvery and waited 15 mins. ridiculas one serving taking orders and doing drinks. went up for carvery waited another 15 min as so slow cutting meat ECT. Sorry dinner awful no taste !!! gravy like water with gravy browing just added. roast potatoes cooked in deep fat fryer as you could taste all fat!!!! carrots ok but sprouts so hard couldn't eat.!!! left most of my dinner after paying £8.99 for mine and £9.99 for my husband's. My hubby will eat any thing but he said it was awful. will never go there again sorry !!!!!!!!

My 25/9 club met for lunch at the Heron Marsh in St Mellons. We both selected the mixed grill £10.99 and it was delicious. Sadly I cannot remember the name of the craft ale , if it helps it had an American flag on the label. The second one tasted even better, so I can heartily recommend the sustenance

The staff were efficient without being fussy and it was a pleasure being served by them. It was not busy but the steady flow of customers kept the murmur of conversation going.

A delightful afternoon out. It was the last nice day of last week a Tuesday I think. Not my first visit but I shall return.

1 order correct out of 4, issues were everything from missing items and delivering regular drinks when large were ordered. Chicken wings deep fat fried with no taste.

Note the pub is now called the Melrose and not the Heron Marsh but everything is just as bad

Food here, is lovely, everyone of my family enjoyed their meal, my favourite was the ploughman's with carved meat from the carvery, which also looked amazing, would definitely recommend a visit

Slow to start with, but to be expected as nobody has been out for so long.
After at most 20 mins it was like it was only the day before or a couple at most and not over 15 months since we had all met up before!

You have to book a table in advance and the usual social distancing and wearing of marks when moving about. Use the App or phone to make your reservation.
It is table service and preferably order your drinks by the App.
Nobody used the app this time and they are ok with either.

It is also a new landlord and landlady they started on Monday 24th or Tuesday this week. So it is a new start for the Heron/Melrose Marsh all round.
It was fairly busy even though the weather was rubbish!
Looking forward to better things and weather to come.

First time at my local since lockdown and it was fab. Lovely chilled atmosphere, great food, drink & service. Took some friends who'd never been and they were suitably impressed

Comfotable and good food. Service okay but a little slow with table service. Great venue for watching sports! Will be going again.

Food was great, its a green king and its pub grub at its best!, priced as it should be for what it is and the portion size is generous 👌
