Great place to stay, ideal location with a lovely garden. The food is excellent, large portions and a good choice. Our room was characterful, as befits a 400 year old building, but it was quiet and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed meeting Rufus! We would happily stay here again.

Fabulous gastro pub, 2nd visit but first in summer so we ate outside. Big gardens to the rear with far reaching countryside views, also bench style seating at the front. Lovely rural village.

Good menu of classic pub food done well. Bar serves a range of well known labels, English wines, local beers etc.

Staff very friendly.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Stopped for lunch. Beautiful, well maintained garden and the service was great. Fantastic food, especially the vegan fish and chips. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely country pub with incredible views and delicious food. The garden is spacious and lit in the evening. You can look straight onto the fields and see the cows from where you sit . Warm and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Arrived to find they had no booking for us, although we had booked two weeks ago. Then to be informed the main restaurant was closed because of staff shortages. No apologies at all. The staff behind the bar want to be given happy pills. We are very local and won't go again. Then we heard many other customers treated very similar. The management are really out of their depth. Food was OK, but nothing to rave about. Our local pub is going down hill fast..

Stopped here for lunch after after a lovely walk around the countryside. They are dog friendly. A great Sunday dinner (nut roast) and lovely atmosphere. We booked a table but ended up sitting outside to make the most of the last few days of sun! Was a lovely end to a Sunday walk.

Great country pub in an amazing setting, does great breakfast and you can just book for brekky! Lunch is a little 'pub grub' but again good. Amazing garden. Great booze selection and friendly staff

Had a lovely weekend at The Fox Goes Free. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed 2 evening meals which were delicious as were the breakfasts. All the staff were so pleasant and extremely welcoming and helpful to us, in particular Sean the manager. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Will definitely stay again and will recommend to friends. Thank you
