PureGym Loughborough

The gym and its facilities are very good, but it is simply far too busy, pretty much all day. Unless you go at an unsociable time; it is impossible to access much equipment without waiting an age. If, like me, you can only go in the evenings after work, don't sign up - The quantity of people in the gym between around 5 and 9pm makes it a really poor experience. Obviously not much PureGym can do about this; the onus is on me to simply go somewhere else.

Way too cold inside, actually, literally it's freezing! The temperature makes you feel like you don't even want to move, or start your workout. Winter, summer same cold, easy to forget about the summer, the atmosphere puts you straight into a bad and grouchy mood!
The male toilets are a serious health and safety hazards most of the time!
On weekends and evenings there's no music at all, or just barely can hear something from the speakers.
Expensive and the whole gym missing the vibe, the atmosphere is dead!
I wouldn't recommend this gym at all, do yourself a favour guys and go elsewhere!

Made the effort to attend the 5:30pm circuit class. No one turned up at all. Finally found the missing instructor to be told that as only 2 people had booked on the class he didn’t bother. I received zero notification. This class timetable is an absolute farce. Class sizes are woeful. Someone needs to take some leadership and sort this before more customers leave and go elsewhere. Dreadful.

Equipment and range is super extensive, and there are cleaning stations dotted around. Really (painful) good experience.

Great gym with lots of equipment and space, feel like it caters more towards students than the locals of the town

For a well known commercial gym I expect more variety with equipment and more equipment itself - spent about half my workout looking for plates and having to adapt basic exercises I do to adjust for the lack of equipment. Compared to the gym I go to back home this is such a downgrade!

Unlimited access, free drinks and body compositions are great for deal for the price of a plus membership. The addition of being able to bring someone else four times a month is perfect for my needs (however the system can get a little buggy if you use the wrong door by accident.)

The gym itself is big, and full of useful machines and weights for a good, long work out. The locker rooms and toilets appear to be cleaned regularly.

The staff are helpful and ready to assist you should you run into a problem. Vending machines are fully stocked, containing sports drinks, snacks, and equipment, including padlocks that have a code lock.
