Pros: 24 hr gym, cardio equipments are good. Cheap
cons: Very very suffocating if you are doing a cardio on treadmill. Little to almost nil air con near the treadmill. The gym is not very welcoming due to lack of light. Interior needs touch up.
Come here is you are looking for a cheap 24hrs gym.

Since I joined Puregym, I got to know a lot of members and I love everyone. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience. I have seen members train wrong but almost all of the personal trainers did not help them. I was afraid that other members will get injured. So sometimes I gave help to others, during my rest time during training.

However, the managers recently approached me, that I cannot talk to others about anything related to training or give them tips. They instructed me to not help others, even if they ask for my advice. They told me that I must say no to helping them, and that I should tell them to go away.

The managers also told me that I cannot work out with my friends, and that I can only work out with 1 friend. I have more friends and we like to work out together because it is safer that way and we have fun. They asked me to only work out with 1 friend for a few weeks and I am not sure why. I clarified that I don’t coach, don’t take money, I am just a member who enjoys working out with friends and have fun.

After I agreed, I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as the manager said I am “on their radar” and some other staff were staring at me and my friend while we were working out. She felt uncomfortable as well. After i sent email to pure gym they said sorry and no actions happened for 10 day so I finally decided to put it in public. as I am not the only one affected. My friends are also affected as they want to train with me but I have been banned from doing so.

I have no gym experience at first, but thanks to the trainers and the staff, they are very friendly, and they guided me in the gym. Not only that the people in the gym is very friendly as well. If you do have the feeling of people watching you doing workout, well in here that's not a thing. They all mind there own workout instead of you, so be comfortable. And I did look for a personal trainer they are well qualified and dedicated to guide and help you to achieve your goals. I highly recommend this gym to everyone, especially for student. They have the most affordable price for student, if you want do check it out on there website.

I used to love this gym been a member for 4 years but recently it's just become a huge sweatbox.. so many people.. not enough space.. air con on the lowest setting probably to save pure gym £££. Just a disgusting gym if I'm honest. Everyone just chilling on their phones chatting, not really having a proper workout, nothing wrong with that really just I miss how it used to be.. Can't get on any machine, weights are everywhere and not put back properly. It's More of a social event. Might as well go to The Regal Wetherspoons.. I go mostly at 00:00AM - 04:00AM in the morning to avoid people but even still you'll find it busy then sometimes 😂

And the smell in there in the day is horrendous

I’ve got nothing but good things to say about this place. It suits my needs entirely: an affordable, unpretentious gym with quality classes.
Ellie makes the lunch time classes interesting and different enough, she’s the best thing that’s happened to this gym recently.
The manager Lawrence is approachable, always available and willing to listen to feedback.
Yes there are some things that need improving, but I feel like everyone at Pure Gym knowledges this and they are taking active steps to address it (air con, better facilities, etc).

Came during the night as it says its a 24 hour gym but couldn't get in despite using the code. In addition, we were still charged 2 pounds at the multi level car park. This was around 1 am

I write this review from a place of frustration because I've loved this gym for a long time, it's a big part of my life and I don't want to have to change gyms. But this gym seems to have been completely abandoned; for example, today there wasn't AC, hygiene, music or enough benches (see pictures taken on the 22/08/21 by myself - I also recorded a video showing empty disinfectant bottles and cleaning tissue but couldn't attach to this review).

But most importantly: for the love of god, turn on the air conditioner. While I understand the lockdowns have put a lot of pressure on businesses, this is a gym without windows. The lack of AC has become a hazard and it encourages germs such as covid to thrive in this much heat.

I’ve also had to stop using the massage chairs (the reason why I upgraded to ‘Plus’) because the warm water on top of the heat makes it unmanageable. Staff have been telling members for months that the AC is going to be fixed "very soon", "when we get a piece we're missing", "next week". Enough is enough, this is 2021, it doesn't take this long to fix an aircon.

I hope that this review helps Pure realise that this gym is no longer good value for money and they really need to step up. Many thanks.

Generally happy with this gym, there was a lot of disruption with the refurb but that is now finished it seems. One thing I would like to request is some mobility/ stretching classes for weightlifters as there seems to be a lack of this type of class in Cambridge. I understand the trainer who ran these at the Grafton centre has now come to the Leisure centre pure gym.
