Joining TFW is the best thing I have done in terms of fitness – Having had two children I was overweight and stuck in a rut, I joined the 8 week challenge in September 2019, I was very nervous but I needn’t have worried Coach Chris is very welcoming and the group were great. He talks you through every exercise so you are doing things correctly and the nutritional side of fitness he teaches is invaluable - during the 8 weeks I felt myself getting fitter and leaner and all around better in myself. I am now a full member and look forward to my training instead of dreading it!

It has been two years since my last review and I am still attending tfw. I think I am still the oldest member but this does not deter me. I have made many friends and I never feel out of place, everyone is so friendly and give me so much encouragement. Coach Chris is so understanding and if he thinks things might be difficult he will always give an alternative. Joining tfw was the best thing I have done as it has kept me fit and given me loads of energy. I always feel so much better after a class. I know if I went to an ordinary gym I would have given up after a few weeks and would never have worked hard enough. Thank you tfw, thank you Coach Chris and thank you to all my good friends for all your encouragement.

First of all the people their are amazing they encourage you so much and I couldn’t be more thankful. You are treated like a family member not just another person in a gym setting. The atmosphere is always up beat and exciting never a dull moment. The music is great and is amazing for every ones taste.

The trainer Chris is one of the best out there he makes sure you push yourself but also have fun as well. He knows what he is on about so the results aren’t far away. He has changed my life and knowledge on fitness and nutrition.

The programs itself is approachable by all and makes you work hard and get great results not only In the way you look but you are stronger and mentally better as well.

Their motto is not fake people do lose fat and build muscle and feel good.

I've just finished the 8-week challenge! I was really nervous when I started - I'm very overweight and verrry unfit....would I be judged? What would others think of me? Would I be able to keep up? Or would I even make it through 8 weeks?! I shouldn't have worried! I went to each session nervous about what lay ahead...it is definitely hard work but by the end of each session, the adrenaline rush felt amazing! Coach Chris is THE BEST!...always supportive and encouraging, which was so important for me as I did struggle to keep up! In fact the entire TFW Familia has been so welcoming!
I have loved it so much, I joined as a full member and I know this is the start to a fitter and healthier me! 😁

Update March 2020:
I last left a review of TFW Birmingham just after I had completed the 8 week challenge back in July 2018. I only intended to join for the initial 8 weeks as a kick-start to get me back to doing some exercise but after having so much fun, alongside seeing such amazing results, I was hooked! I'm nearly 2 years on and still loving it as much as I did when I first started! It's the longest I've ever stuck at any gym and I have no intention of stopping!
I've tried to figure out why TFW Birmingham has worked for me when everything else I ever tried failed...it's the amazing support and encouragement you get, both from coach Chris, who is also so knowledgable and passionate about what he does so he can get the best out of his students, but also from the rest of the TFW Familia! It's simply an amazing place to train!

I've been training with TFW Birmingham and Coach Chris since October 2014 and in that time I've become fitter, stronger and healthier than at any point in my life!

Thanks to Coach Chris and the TFW system I can now deadlift 200kg, squat 180kg and bench 100kg at 83kg bodyweight (March 2020). TFW Birmingham has enabled me to do all this as I didn't do any strength training previously.

Coach Chris is a very welcoming and motivating individual. If I am ever feeling down he has a way of inspiring me and getting the best out of me. He always puts safety first and has helped me to continue training even when recovering from surgery and injuries.

Overall, I have benefited immensely from the physical, mental and lifestyle coaching offered at TFW. Highly recommended!

I can highly recommend Training for Warriors. I originally joined as part of the 8 Week Warrior programme and enjoyed it so much I have stayed as a full member. This is more than just a gym. Here, the atmosphere is always great. Everyone is so supportive and friendly - it truly feels like familia! This place is for all sorts of people and, as someone who frets about sticking out for all the wrong reasons at fitness places, I'm not led to feel that way here.
I've joined various gyms and tried numerous clubs over the years but here I can see that I'm actually getting results, both physically and in mindset. Coach Chris is amazing, supportive and guides you through the process expertly, without patronising and by building you up. You are led by an expert who knows his stuff!
At Training for Warriors you get a whole package of support that is more than just turning up at the gym. If you commit, you'll have an army of support behind you. I'm more than happy to recommend!

A long post but an insight into my 9 months at TFW. I cannot stress enough how much this amazing programme and community has helped shape my last year into a positive one! I reflect back to where I was both mentally and physically this time last year and I am so grateful that I found TFW! It is so much more than a place to get fit!

I joined TFW in early May 2019 desperate to find my motivation for fitness again, with rock bottom self confidence I knew something had to change. I had been a member of a standard gym for years but due to seeing no results I started going very sporadically and lost complete interest.

Within a few weeks of starting TFW I knew I had made the right choice. I was starting to see results quite quickly and I was loving the supportive and community feel environment. More importantly I had got my “buzz” for fitness back! I absolutely loved learning how to lift weights and the cardio style training was something very different to what I had done before and I still love these sessions now!

Chris’s coaching style is just right, he immediately puts you at ease and can literally adapt any exercise as required to accommodate fitness levels and injuries. His fairly gentle approach is well suited but he is also there to provide some excellent motivation when required, usually during a rep max session when you may be doubting yourself. Due to the background of his own training, he has amazing knowledge on different lifting techniques and always ensures safety throughout, which being a physio myself is something I respect massively.

The different monthly themes at TFW does not just work on fitness but improving your overall health outside the dojo....nutrition, sleep and overall well-being are just some of the examples. This was hugely helpful for me and gave me a much more positive outlook on life again.

Within my first 3 months I reached my ideal body weight, loosing 7.5% body fat. I have maintained at this level now for 6 months, plus adding muscle to tone up. I have achieved this with no restrictions just adopting a more balanced TFW lifestyle.

I still have the same passion now to when I started, I absolutely love the training sessions and never had a boring workout. Most importantly I feel part of a family where we all support each other and are on one journey to be a better version of ourselves.
Give it a go, you honestly will not regret it!

I used to hate the gym, no matter which one I went to. They were unwelcoming, unfriendly and I had no idea what I was doing. It was really demotivating and going was a chore. After major surgery I was then left with no choice but to prioritise my health and fitness which meant going back to the gym. Luckily for me, a great friend recommended Training For Warriors and reassured me that this place was like no other gym. I trusted her and joined up for a trial, worrying that I would be the fattest and most unfit there and that people would laugh at me. Looking back I honestly don't know why I was so worried. Every single person at TFW has been welcoming and friendly. Not only that, but they are supportive and encouraging. Coach Chris is a miracle worker (well, that's what it feels like to me!) as his clear instruction and adaptions to some exercises has meant that I am now lifting weights heavier than I ever thought and my physical health and mental health has improved vastly. The classes are different and there is a good variety to keep us on our toes as well as some healthy and encouraging competitiveness if we want to join in. I'd recommend TFW without any hesitation.
