Pros:
- The gyms kept clean.
- Good that there’s a sauna/steam room facilities (probably the only thing warranting the high monthly price).
- Convenient location for me.

Cons:
- Its basically a gym for retired people… opening hours are not suitable for productive/working people. Doesn’t work well if you have a family too, as I’d ideally go early enough to be back in time to get the kids ready for school or late enough to go once they’re in bed - here, you do not have that option; gym opens at 6:30am and closes at 10pm (but they’ll deny you entry from 9pm). Gym opens at 8am on bank holidays. Fine if you no longer have to work, or you’re not serious about the gym (prefect if you’re just looking for a very casual relationship with the gym, and you want to pay a lot of money for the pleasure)
- For the price, you’d expect it to be 24hr… once you realise how much you’re affected by the opening time limitations it’s too late, coz the contracts are 12 months!
- Between 5-7pm (peak times), it’s way too busy to get a machine to workout.
- More often than not there’s a broken machine, which takes months to fix (and you’re paying a lot of money for the inconvenience)

I’ve been a member of pretty much every gym you could think of. Signed up to this one due to its convenient location (close to home). Definitely regret signing up for the 12 month contract.

I’d say, if you’re retired or unemployed with money to burn, this place is ideal. If you’re not, take my advice and go elsewhere.

AVOID!!!!
Customer care at Nuffield is non existent.
After my Nan broke her hip 2 and a half weeks ago we've been trying to get in contact with Nuffield about freezing her membership. After trying to get in contact a number of times with no success we visited the gym to do it in person, the first time we done this we was told to get in contact online but after no response I went back to be told there is nothing they can do.

After being a member of Nuffield for 15 years and paying her membership annually we are disgusted that 'there's nothing we can do'
Every member of our family has been a member of Nuffield at some point but this has shown they obvious don't care about the customers and only want the money

I was not too sure about joinging because of all the reviews. But I went to check it out the other day and that sold it for me.
The gym is really big and have many different classes available, there is plenty of equipment ( some needs to be fixed but this is the same in every gym, sometimes equipment breaks). The swimming pool is big enough for any swimmer and well kept, of course it's not an olimpic one but bear in mind there is only handful of gyms that offer swimming pool. Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are very nice addition. We love to relax there after tennis game. Oh yes they have 2 tennis courts to use as well. The front desk team as well as customer service are very good. We are always welcomed, and signing up process was very smooth. I work shift patterns (12hrs days and nights) so it is not possible to be there every day. But it is much better then other gyms we have used. People are complaining "oh it is not 24/7, it is outdated, it is packed". Loads of gyms are packed, the interior is not the most important thing as long as you can exercise. I'm not going there to admire the interior. I would recommend for anyone who wants to join. It is a good price for what you are getting, and believe me if I can fit time between my schedule to be here 3-4 times a week, anyone can.

Cons -

Machines breaks and never get fixed, or get a botched job e.g a exercise bike glued to one seat position.

Pool and changing rooms are dirty

Often no tissues or wipes available

Staff are friendly until you have an issue where they become very blunt

Nowhere near as good facilities as other branches of Nuffield

Increase the price mid way through your contract

Pros -

Parking

£50 a month for probably the worst gym I have ever seen. Been a member for the last 7x months and machines still not fixed / faulty after all that time - really starting to get annoying. It's just not good enough for the money they charge!

An absolute joke! Just had an email saying that certain services won’t be operating due to the high cost of energy? What’s next?! No hot water? But are customers still paying full membership fees? What do you think? Time to join the Gym Group down the road for £23.99 per month. Less than half the price paid at Nuffield Norbury.

Other than the staff being nice, the facilities here are sub par. The Jacuzzi is inactive, the changing rooms are small, wet and grubby. The Sauna is more like a changing cubicle. This branch is more like a leisure centre. I didn't use the gym today, so can't comment on that. I definitely would not be coming here to use the spa amenities. Nuffield Bromley is definitely superior in all aspects in my opinion.

Almost 2 months I’ve been going to this gym. I’m very happy about it. I don’t use the machines. I like the classes on offer, the pool facilities and changing rooms. Staff and teachers friendly and helpful. No complaints really about anything. I go there 3/4 evenings a week. I feel an improvement in my mental health and I also start to feel good changes physically. I will definitely continue to go.
