People put the weights back, equipment range is unbelievably good and well maintained, something is always available and I've been at what's felt like a busy time. Haven't encountered any bad attitudes.
Would be good to hear some other styles of music like metal/rock every now and then over the speakers, maybe some Rage against the machine, slipknot, Pantera etc
Downsides are really not a huge deal: The social media gym types filming, it's a bit distracting when nearby feeling like you're in the shot tbh but that's more to do with the age we live in rather than the gym.
The air can feel very thick as you walk further in to the back of the gym away from the shutter, I guess there's no opposite windows/doors to create a nice bit of airflow/draft.
The mirrors are too high in the dumbbell area to check form when you sit down.
MINOR stuff so Needless to say I've signed up to a monthly membership. It's been a long time since I've felt so pumped about going to a gym. This place is special 💪🏽
Another very cool thing is their merchandise. A lot of oversized shirts and everything you need for training. Booster, snacks you name it they got it!
Besides that it was an amazing experience meeting IFBB Pro James Hollingshead.
Thank you for having us!
I also found it simply disrespectful that the gym's manager felt it necessary to suggest I should invest benefits he presumed I was in receipt of towards a personal trainer to access their gym. I of course had to let the manager know I do not receive benefits and worked full-time .
positioning practically all of their cardio equipment on their mezzanine floor automatically meant it was inaccessible and out of reach to someone who may struggle to use stairs. Although I can use stairs quite comfortably, the pathway and activities on route to the stairs rendered the gym an unsafe environment for any person who has mobility or sensory impairments. I would suggest a rethink of their setup to Kings Gym with consideration for a mix of potential clients. Kings Gym simply should understand that people living with disabilities an who make Britain proud at world class sporting competitions achieve their feats because they have access to training facilities.
